I’ve signed up to help write issue statements of up to 250 words (200-250 word range ideally) for the new Alabama LP website http://alibertarians.com/. There are a dozen issues listed now and we can add a few.

I think the two most important issues for state LPs to talk about would be India-Pakistan relations and the sinking of the Lusitania.
The site links to Libertarianism 101 which covers most things well. I recommend you rely on their wording to help.
On the drug thing I think it would be nice to tie in victumless crime and the overcrowded prison system costing us TREMENDOUSLY. Always try to incluse how the LP solutions will BENEFIT them in life and pocketbook !~ I understand it can be tough with a 200 to 250 word limit.
Hahaha, lol. Never heard of Operation Terror before. I’ve seen the big ones, Loose Change: An American Coup, Fabled Enemies, In Plane Sight, etc. I’ll make sure to check that one out.
KL, my husband Alan is one of the engineers who signed the petition for Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth (www.ae911truth.org). In the summer of 2011, our friend Art Olivier put out a casting call for extras in a movie he was making. We both signed up, and are in Operation Terror, which went straight to DVD this past fall. It’s a remarkably good movie, a fiction based on what might have occurred on that day. Even though our parts were small (Alan is the first person in a passenger queue, and I’m second), Art put our names in the credits and we’re listed in IMDb! It was quite fun.

Art Olivier, BTW, was the LP’s vp candidate in 2000, when you were only 4!
I believe there was a resolution at that same convention, the 2010 LP convention in Portland, calling for a full and independent investigation into the events of 9/11. A delegate moved to suspend the rules to allow for a resolution in favor of the 9/11 inquiry. Unfortunately, the suspension of the rules failed.
On a side note, I really appreciate the fact that the LP posts the minutes of all of its conventions on its website as pdfs. They are very informative and interesting to look at, and provide great summaries of what went on. The CP should follow suit, and have its secretary record the minutes of its next convention and post it online. CP members and supporters deserve nothing less.
Ernie Hancock was part of the 9/11 truth movement, and he ran for LP chair a couple times, I think, including 2012. I poured over old minutes of LP conventions, and the best he ever did was only 16.8% in 2010, running against Mark Hinkle and Wayne Allyn Root (WAR). I wish he won. Too bad he never did. The LP needs more courageous people like him, in my opinion.
Problem with the events of 9/11 is that they plowed up the crime scene.

I believe it’s a topic that should be addressed, and it is from time to time here. I don’t recall anything during the last 6 months or so, however.
Personally , I don’t know how someone can be antiwar, as many of us here are, without looking more closely in to the events of 9/11. There’s just too much that we don’t know, or that doesn’t make sense.

I wouldn’t make those the first issues I address. I’d like to start with the dozen we already have and expand the wording a bit, maybe add a few more issues that are more general in their scope.
To be fair, I’m not particularly looking to have my state party address the China-Taiwan problem or the JFK assassination either.
Hmm, do they have a policy position regarding Israel? I think they should have one the supports the right of self-determination for the Palestinian people, condemns Israel for its war crimes, and supports a peaceful two-state solution.
Also, how about supporting a new independent investigation of 9/11? I know that some more mainstream libertarians might not want to cater to what they consider to be”conspiracy theory nutjobs,” but I still think it is an important issue regardless.
