Independence Party of Minnesota will file a lawsuit to ensure the 2012-13 budget is constitutionally balanced

The Independence Party of Minnesota is holding a press conference on Thursday, May 23rd at 10:00 am in room 125 of the State Capitol to issue its response to the 2014-15 budget agreement and to challenge the Governor and the Legislature to ensure the 2012-13 and the 2014-15 budgets are constitutionally balanced. The Independence Party is preparing to file a lawsuit on December 2, 2013 to compel the State Auditor to balance the budget according to the terms set forth in the State Constitution (Article 11, Section 6) if the 2012-13 school shift is not paid in full by December 1, 2013.
