Green Party of Connecticut officials will file a complaint with local and state election boards that “REGISTERED” WRITE IN votes were not counted in all towns across the state as required by state law, it was announced today. This decision was reached after state Greens checked their own town votes totals showing no registered write in votes for the Green Party candidate for President, Cynthia McKinney and after receiving numerous complaints that town polling places had no list of registered write in lists, were reluctant to show any list, and some local voters were told their write in votes would not count.

I know, and I never suggested it wasn’t yours. It just seems like you’re very passionate about it and it might be worthwhile to talk to the officials in your county, if you haven’t already.
I really like the “they should be beaten to death in public” part. That really made my day!
Why not replace them, Ross? And why not spend your time educating them? My time is mine to use as I please.
Why not educate them instead of just yelling at people about them?
No, they are all scum. Every last one of them. They exercise power and they abuse the trust placed in them. All the time. In every county. Throw the rascals out.
To the extent that they have power, they have responsibility. It is not my responsibility to educate these filthy maggots.
If they fail to know their obligations under the law, they should be beaten to death in public. What they will be is given every chance, given benefit of the doubt by timid and cowardly people, told that they didn’t know better, excused by the courts, and given a free ride to screw people over again.
You Americans make me sick.
Hey Jim, remember that sometimes those county officials and their employees aren’t scum, just uneducated or mis-educated as to their jobs and responsibilities. After all, many of them went to government schools.
Write-in rules are different in each state, true. But the vote counting process takes place at the county level, and the county apparatchiki do what they please.
Georgia law says candidates had until 1 September to file and publish a document for write-in status. http://writein2008.blogspot.com/search/label/Georgia
The fact is, the county government is “where it is at” as far as control over the election process. If your county gov’t doesn’t count your write-in votes, then you need a new county gov’t. Start with the registrar of voters or county clerk, work your way to sheriff, and then get rid of the rest of the scum.
Write in rules are different in each state. Not all of them count write-ins.
By the way, I did Write- In (type-in) Cynthia McKinney and Rosa Clemente names in as my elected officials.
The same thing happened to me during early voting in Clayton County, Ga. I was told by a worker at the polls that they did not have any Presidential Write-Ins in the state of Georgia. They did not even have a listing posted on the walls.
