Mr. Glinski,
Effective July 20, 2013, I resign as a member of the Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania.
I worked very hard to get Gary Johnson and our statewide candidates on the ballot in 2012, to obtain Minor Party status for the LPPA, to build membership, to charter chapters and as State Chair, I spent countless hours advancing the cause of liberty in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
In light of the petty and destructive infighting that continues to take place and be fueled by the current leadership, my time would be better spent offering my services to other pro-liberty organizations. This saddens me as does the fact that by my resigning, I am giving up my Life Membership in the party, a status of which I was very proud.
I hope conditions in the Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania change over the coming years so it can, once again, be a positive force for liberty and not a source of embarrassment to its members.

There was also some really weird story from back in the 1990’s where he was supposed to testify in some case, and then apparently the FBI (or something like that) came in and said that he did not testify, which sounds like something that happens with government informants. I’m not sure of all of the details of the story, I’d have to look it up, but somebody told me about it and it sounded suspicious and bizarre.

Should read, “a while ago…”
Wouldn’t always seeking to be the Chair of something or on some kind of committee also fit the profile of a government plant? One could do more damage to a party or movement if they get themselves in positions of power or influence in a movement.
I posted some stories here a while about the government plants who got outted in peace groups in Washington and Minnesota a few years ago. The ones who got outted as plants all got themselves in positions of power in the peace groups, as in they became Chairs, ran meetings, worked in the offices, etc… Some of the peace groups members whom they had won the trust of were shocked after they got outted for being government plants (aka-confidential informants).
Former independent, Green Party, and Socialist Workers Party candidate, Peter Camejo, found out through a law suit years ago that his campaign for President in 1976 was infested with government plants. It turned out that even his Deputy Campaign Manager was a government plant. If the government would send plants into his campaign, why should we believe that they would not do this to the Libertarian Party?

He did such an “excellent” job as Chair in Pennsylvania that the party went down hill under his tenure and they had to call a special state convention to remove him as Chair. I attended that convention and I did not talk to one person there that was a Tom Stevens supporter or who thought that he was doing a good job.
Regarding the LP, Tom Stevens is currently the Chair of the Queens County (NY) LP chapter. He has done an excellent job recruiting new members and booking interesting and varied speakers at the chapter’s monthly meetings for several years.
Of COURSE he’s a paid provocateur. The signs are all there. He’s an opportunist with a huge ego. His psychological profile loves intrigue and “secret praise”. They are frequently found to be informants — either for free or for pay — to either a company or a government, depending on the situation.
He’s out for personal glory, power and fame. Most of this power only exists in his mind, making him very useful to government agencies that wish to sabotage political organizations.

And he was at least at one time involved with the Reform Party. You didn’t mention the LP, although that is in the article. I’m aware of his brief involvement with the BTP and of his Objectivist and Personal Freedom parties, his support for the Anti-Prohibition party that Kristin Davs ran on and so on. Let’s just say the Doctor gets around and leave it at that.”

This is just so sad. I had not joined a state affiliate of the LP in 30 years and when I finally did it was a disaster. If it can be more disappointing I just don’t know how.
