The California Democratic Party has turned a blind eye to the needs of the people of California in the name of profit for the 1%. Cindy and the Peace and Freedom Party will bring about the true change our state needs: A Candidate and a Party of the People.
Join Cindy and her Team at the California Democratic Convention. California is a blue state, so why are we still struggling for basic human rights and needs? Maybe Blue isn’t so true?
California Governor Jerry Brown and the Democratic political establishment with a stranglehold on state politics keep touting an imaginary recovery and accomplishments.
This is how Cindy Sheehan for Cal Gov, 2014 sees it:
“Fiscal Responsibility” of proto-Republican Jerry Brown helps the banks and wealthy and harms the already vulnerable of our State.
25% of our citizens live in poverty.
California has one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation.
Over one-million are homeless.
State University and college fees rise dramatically with the massive increase in prison spending and solitary confinement that benefits the Prison Industrial Complex.
Our K-12 schools consistently rate near the bottom of the country in all measurable standards.
In the middle of a drought, Brown approves more hydro-fracturing which wastes millions of gallons of water while polluting communities and ground water.
The Democratic establishment attacks peaceful protest while not holding violent cops accountable.
Brown refuses to raise taxes on corporations and the wealthy to fairly distribute our income and resources.
Brown gives more tax breaks to his friends in the oil business while California’s public transportation systems and infrastructure are woefully inadequate and dangerous.
We are ready for A New Day and a New Way for California.
Vote for Cindy Sheehan in the June Open Primaries.

We could also be exporting or automating a lot of jobs with this as well.
“A significantly raised minimum wage has long been a demand of the US Left”
Do you really think you can raise the price of something by 67% and expect to sell just as much of it as you did before? Really? In your personal life, you would buy just as many pizzas, automobiles, coffees or movie tickets if the price rocketed 67% overnight?
No? Then why do you think the price of labor is inelastic? Sure, maybe for a few days or a week or two the employer couldn’t readily find a substitute for labor but eventually she
will. And many of your low-skilled employees will be unemployed. Why do you hate the
low-skilled?
The title is fine, and not worth further argument.
“It doesn’t really matter what sense the title gives. Grammatically, it is in command/imperative form. The title really should identify the person directing us to “join”.”
The person directing you to join Cindy Sheehan is Cindy Sheehan. Thus why I kept it as is.
Yes, but not in the way you think. By eliminating jobs (especially for those starting out or marginally employed) and eliminating small businesses, it will increase income inequality.
As far as Cindy Sheehan, I think she’s a rather ordinary woman who is in extraordinary circumstances. She got her start in politics by acting on her emotions, and seems to still be doing that. Trusting your emotions instead of thinking issues through has finally caught up to her and she does have some odd and inconsistent views on issues.
Please understand that increasing minimum wage to $15 per hour would be devastating to California. I cannot emphasize enough how hard it is to run a small business in the state. Many of the struggling mom-and-pop type of retail stores will fold, I guarantee it. It’s already very difficult for teenagers and young adults to get starter jobs, and increasing minimum wage will drastically reduce the amount of those low-end jobs available.
I know the supporters of raising minimum think that the CEOs and upper managemant can and will reduce their hefty incomes to supplement those minimum wage jobs, but in reality it just doesn’t happen.
The title doesn’t bother me.
It doesn’t really matter what sense the title gives. Grammatically, it is in command/imperative form. The title really should identify the person directing us to “join”.
I’m a socialist, a “supporting” member of the P&FP, and I don’t feel any command or despotry coming on. No zombie-like marching sensation.
I think Cindy Sheehan will really connect with voters if she comes out strong for a $15 an hour state ,minimum wage. I think rather than “redistribution”, which implies a state beaucracy, a raised minimum wage is direct “distribution” of value generated by laboring.
A significantly raised minimum wage has long been a demand of the US Left, and I think that now is an actual time in history when there is voter and community support for something this direct and significant. It seems to me that a popular demand for a greatly advanced minimum wage is currently even stronger because there are very few employee collective bargaining units left in the US.
Did anyone else read it that way?
The title uses “Join” in the imperative form.
Command? I guess you could read it that way, but I wouldn’t have thought of that without your suggestion.
Title reads like IPR endorses this command.
A Peace & Freedom Party candidate talks about the 1%! That is rich! 1% is about the typical vote cast for a PFP candidate in a California election.
Now there is a fruitcake. Right at home in Kalifornia
