Letter from Angela Keaton. Posted at Ideas from Free Minds by Michelle Shinghal.
Dear friends and colleagues:
By the time you read this, I will be on a cross country flight back east. Earlier today, I resigned my seat on the Libertarian National Committee. You each deserve an explanation for my decision but first I need to thank you.
My sincerest gratitude to LP state chairs Karl Dickey (FL), Eric Sundwall (NY), Daniel Lewis(GA), Tony Wall (TN), Philip Hodson (NH). Also to Professor Gary Chartier, Professor Roderick T. Long, Joshua Katz of LewRockwell.com, US Senate Candidate Scott Bowman (L-MI), Rational Review Editor Thomas L. Knapp, Last Free Voice Editor ElfNino’s Mom, legislative analysists Mike and Lidia Seebeck, Chris and Evonne Bennett, LPC Operations Director Beau Cain, George Phillies, Gene Hawkridge, Morey Straus, Starchild, Jason Pye, Rob Power, Lois Garcia, Sean Haugh, Jim Davidson, Todd Andrew Barnett, John Wayne Smith, Steve Meier, Daniel Grow, George Donnelly, Steve Newton, Brian Miller, Sandy Pierre, Outright Libertarians, Sex Driven Sister, Richard Cooper, Boston Tea Party, Liberty for America, Mike Shipley, Kevin Bjornson, Eric Dondero, Bruce Cohen, JR Enfield, Wes Benedict, Tom Sipos, Harland Harrison, Rowan Wilson, Jack Dean, Kelly Wall, Daniel Lewis, Chris Baker, Marc Montoni, Mike Renzulli, Seth Cohn, Art Torrey, Jennifer Schultz, Lonnie Holcomb, Melinda Pillsbury-Foster, Rachel Mills, Norman Singleton, John Famularo, Anthony Gregory, Jill Stone, L. Neil Smith, Jesse Thomas, Donna Orlando, Vicki Kirkland, Carolyn Marbry, Michael McMahon, Matthew and Kelly Barnes, Dave Brady, Rick McGinnis, G.E. Smith, disinter, Zander Collier, SMiles Lewis, the spirit of Terry Liberty Parker and my very much beloved Michelle Shinghal.
For their integrity Julie Fox, Heather Scott, Steve LaBianca, Michael Jingozian, Austin Petersen, Gene Hawkridge, Ruth Bennett, Marakay Rogers, Peter Orvetti, Admiral Michael Colley and particularly Dr. Scott Lieberman. Mary Ruwart, Rachel Hawkridge and Lee Wrights for going above and beyond the call of friendship. Mr. Wrights is was a great honor to finally serve with you. I will take what you taught me through the dark age of the Obama Regime. Susan Hogarth, your leadership, stoicism and courage has been utterly indispensable. As for David Nolan, there are no words which can properly express the debt that I, we owe you.
Dondero would ride my bum if I didn’t mention the importance of Tom Walls, Phil Blumel, Lisa Bullion, Dave Hardy, and Ivan Osorio. If I were half the libertarian any of you were, I’d be twice the libertarian I am now.
For Jim Lark, your private words yesterday mean more to me than you know, or maybe you do. It gave me for lack of a better word, closure on this chapter of my life.
The Libertarian Party’s birthday and mine coincide and when one has lived half her life it is time for reflection. While this is going to sound unexpected coming from a lesbian feminist, I need to tend to the men in my life. Tomorrow is the anniversary of Eric Garris’ purchase of a little domain name, antiwar.com. The responsibility and mission to which my dear friend Scott Horton and I have been entrusted by Mr. Garris is my life’s work. Besides, Brian Doherty has placed a great expectation upon me. Every time I open Radicals for Capitalism, that description, “Freedom Fighter, Wife” is not a sentimental jest but an imperative. Time for me to live up to it.
In liberty,
Angela Keaton
West Hollywood, CA

I don’t particularly care for Sean Haugh, especially his recent behavior in screwing up ballot access in various states. I think his whistleblower act on M Carling is quite devilish and delightfully fun. And could cost him his job, so that seems a plus all around.
I have a number of reasons to severely dislike ENM, especially because she is an age bigot. And, my dislike of Eric Dondero Rittberg is widely known and published in various places.
Angela’s choices in friends and in making her views known are hers. Her choices do speak about her, because they are a set of insights into her character. I don’t think these particular choices are at all significant. She has made many other choices which I find quite fetching.
Everyone has their own choices to take. Tom Knapp said it best, Andy. Go f#ck yourself.
“Thanks, Jim. It appears that Angela feels otherwise, preferring to thank Sean Haugh, ElfNinosMom and Eric Dondero. Oh well. It no longer matters to me.”
And this fact speaks volumes about Angela Keaton, and what it says is not good.
From context, he threatened to ride her bum.
I think his mention is a gratuitous reference to a Republican. Possibly the others in that paragraph are, or were, GOP?
I know I’m an outsider to all this, but I was very surprised by the Dondero reference as well. What did he do?
Paulie, you’ve done yeoman’s work, reporting and organising for the Sunshine Caucus. If your work is not universally recognised and appreciated, please keep doing it anyway. It matters to me. Thank you for it.

That’s quite a who’s who in liberty activism which shows up in Angela’s letter. It is an honour to be named in such excellent company.
Jennifer spells her last name Schulz.

Peter, I am proud to be named in the same letter with you. You have been a stand for liberty and decency. If that is sadly rare these days, it should be recognised whenever it is displayed. Thank you for the work you are doing.
Whereas I haven’t done jack shit here.
That’s OK, though.
Peter, you may have done more than you realized. At least, she thinks that way.
A lot of people are damn proud of her.
I’d say something mushy, but that would pretty much blow the ‘stoical’ compliment.
I’m sorry that you’ve served as a living illustration of the uneasy relationship between Party and Movement, but I do hope that at least the illustration is not lost on those of trying to keep one foot in both.
