At least eleven Libertarian Party candidates were elected or reelected to office yesterday, Election Day (11/3/15).
In Indiana, Larry Walters was elected to the Dublin Town Council in a partisan race. Susan Bell was elected to another term as judge in Hagerstown. And Dennis Denney was reelected to another term in Shirley.
In Pennsylvania, five candidates were elected to office:
- Charles Broust, Auditor, Upper Frankford Township
- William Dickerson, Constable, ValleyTownship (reelected)
- James Foose, Constable, North Manheim Township
- Daniel Noll, Sr, Tremont Borough Council
- Nelson Reppert, Cressona Borough Council
In Washington state, two unopposed incumbents were reelected: Barbara Brenner in Whatcom County Council District 3B, and Joshua Penner on the Orting City Council. Rob Gibbs was unopposed in running for the Kelso School Director Position 3.
Mr. Penner is also running for Pierce County Charter Review Commission, and appears to have a safe lead. Washington state votes only by mail, and all of the ballots have not been counted yet.
Don Myers is running for the Moses Lake, WA City Council, and has 49.8% of the vote. He is only eight votes behind the leader, with more ballots to be counted.

Indiana’s elections resulted in 6 winners! Susan Bell, Hagerstown Court Judge, Larry Walters, Dublin Town Council, and Dennis Denney, Shirley Town Council mentioned in the original post. Plus Cheryl Heacox, Clay Township Board, Terry Coffman, Liberty Township Board, and Elizabeth Brewer, Claypool Clerk-Treaurer!
Additionally, one race for Newburgh Township was lost by only 6 votes! Melinda Mitchell is working toward filing a recount. Donations are still needed. See details on the A Libertarian Candidate In Indiana Needs Your Help’ thread elsewhere on IPR.
Thank you very much to everyone that has already donated to help fund this recount! Getting support from across the country is amazing. The funding is well on it’s way to meeting their goal by the end of this week.
If you are able, please send a few dollars to help fund this recount, even small amounts add up quickly. https://lpin.org/join/donate/
Libertarian T.J. Rohr was elected to a fourth-consecutive term to the City Council of Lenoir in Caldwell County, North Carolina on Tuesday in a non-partisan race.

Excellent. Kudos to all of the winners and kudos to all Libertarians on last night’s ballots across America whether they won or not!
Richard P. Burke, Commissioner
Tualatin Valley Water District
Andy LeCureaux was re-elected to the Hazel Park, Michigan, City Council, coming in third out of six candidates for four seats in a nonpartisan race. He has served since 2001.
Susan Bell is so respected as a Town Judge at Hagerstown, IN that the old parties have not run a candidate against her for two election cycles. She is a shining example of what Libertarians do when elected to office.

How about electing 11 Libertarians in the same local government so they can actually accomplish something, instead of having 11 elected Libertarians in different small towns and in different states?
