The Washington Examiner challenges Barack Obama to turn his pretty words about "change" and "hard choices" into some kind of real action.
"After a relentless expansion of big government for decades under both Republican and Democratic administrations, the nation’s economy is finally buckling under the load. In his inauguration address, President Barack Obama blamed “greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age.” But Obama’s $825 billion stimulus plan contains few “hard choices”- just lots more government spending.
"The hardest choice off all is to scale back government at the local, state and federal levels and stop the seemingly inexorable growth of entitlement programs that are bankrupting the nation. But is the Obama administration up to this kind of real change?
"The Heritage Foundation’s Center for Data Analysis reports that in fiscal year 2010…"
Read the editorial for yourself at The Washington Examiner website.

See how a group of libertarians took over a wasteful government agency and dismantled it, returning money to property owners in Lee
County Florida.
It’s a lesson in how citizens can target government waste.

‘But it’s Obama, so, the LP tones down the rhetoric and just makes “suggestions.””
Earth to Dondero–the GOP-lite faction of the LNC “toning down its rhetoric” towards Obama?
That’s so sad and pathetic that’s it’s laughable nonsense. The LNC was bashing Bush plenty the past 8 years, Clinton before that, etc.
derkel, are you a commie? All I see you doing is defending Obama. what a sleaze bag you are. statist!

If Bush had proposed such a massive increase in government spending, Libertarians would be screaming bloody murder, calling him a Fascist, Communist, Big Government Republican, blah, blah, blah…”
Federal government spending increased at a faster rate under George W. Bush than under any President since FDR. We will be feeling the damage from the Bush administration for many years to come.
I expect that Obama will continue the destruction of liberty.
Eric,
That is because you don’t call someone a fascist, communist, and other labels in an official press release.
See how seriously others will take you when you start winging around those terms on your national party website.
If trying to stimulate the economy, then why not let those who are the most succesful in earning money put this money into the marketplace.
How to allocate “stimulus” is simple…just reduce or eliminate all income taxes.
If Bush had proposed such a massive increase in government spending, Libertarians would be screaming bloody murder, calling him a Fascist, Communist, Big Government Republican, blah, blah, blah…
But it’s Obama, so, the LP tones down the rhetoric and just makes “suggestions.”
