Johnson: “If Weld is Anti-Trump; I’m Anti-Clinton”

In an article by Joseph Rago titled: “The Libertarians Make Their Case: Gary Johnson says the Clinton campaign and its Super Pacs may dump $50 million on him. What are they so afraid of?” published in the Wall Street Journal yesterday, Governors Johnson and Weld were quoted as saying:

JOHNSON: “If Bill wants to say that it’s his personal goal to make sure that Donald Trump isn’t elected (then) my personal goal is make sure that Hillary Clinton isn’t elected.”

WELD: “I did say I had grave reservations about Mr. Trump’s proposals in the areas of trade and nuclear weapons and foreign policy generally and allies, but I also said, and it didn’t make the story, that I would keep my Libertarian hat on for the duration of the campaign. We have a slightly different slant on Hillary Clinton, because I’ve known her for a long time, but it doesn’t mean I think that her fiscal policy and handling of debt is what we need.”

. . .

JOHNSON: “We’ll keep plugging.”

WELD: “It’s not just plugging. Momentum in the last two weeks of a campaign is more important than money or organization, because in my experience it’s nearly irreversible if you take it into the last 10 days.”

WSJ: “So win a couple of states and toss it into the House?”

JOHNSON: “I mean, it’s a possibility.”

WELD: “I was talking about running the table.”

There are 207 comments in that WSJ article (where the cartoon is from). They are as fascinating as the article (or even more so) .

Who is that in the cartoon in the article…an older, but no more mature, Beavis and Butthead?

Gary Johnson now says that he is anti-Clinton, yet just a few weeks ago on CNN Johnson was praising Hillary Clinton by calling her a “wonderful public servant”.

Johnson and Weld have no credibility.
