The group No Labels is preparing the option of running a candidate for President in 2024. The option becomes operative if the Republicans run Donald Trump or someone farther to the right and the Democrats run Bernie Sanders or someone further to the left. Their invitation to join is “Had enough of the angriest voices dominating our politics? Join a movement where every voice counts.”
Their expectation is that they will spend $70 million to be able to put a Presidential candidate on the ballot, of which they claim to have raised or received as pledges $46 million. Some of this money has been spent; they claim to have, for example, over 100,000 signatures in Ohio and over 47,000 signatures in Arizona.
Their policy proposals are reported to include comprehensive immigration reform with stronger borders and citizenship for DACA immigrants, American energy self-sufficiency, cleaner energy sources, a 21-year-old minimum age limit for firearms ownership, and legal abortions for the first 15 weeks.
No Labels is not a new party. It is being set up as a one-shot if the Democrats and Republicans between them leave a large gap in the center. Apparently, they are still trying to decide how to choose a candidate. Read more about them at nolabels.org.
With thanks to IPR Commenter Bo Jiden’ for calling this to our attention.

Wasn’t Jon Huntsman Jr. highly involved with No Labels at one point? I think he’d make a decent centrist/moderate candidate. (Frankly he’s one of the few Republicans I respect.) Ticks a lot of boxes. Business experiences as CEO of Huntsman Family Holdings. Served in every presidential administration since Reagan. (Not counting the Biden administration.) Lot of foreign policy experience as an ambassador to Singapore, China, and Russia. (Certainly need that kind of experience in these times of tense relations between the US, Russia, and China.) He was also the Deputy US Trade Representative at one point. Not to mention executive experience as governor of Utah.
If this were to be done in conjunction with the new Forward Party then that might really be something viable. (In terms of ballot access and what not.)
