On April 28th, 2009, the installation of a statue of Sojourner Truth will make her the first African American woman to have a memorial bust in the United States Capitol building.
2008 Green Party candidate for U.S. President, Cynthia McKinney, has been noted in various media as a supporter of this project. Some of the outlets which have referred to Ms. McKinney–who was able to give her support as an elected official in the past, when she served as a Democratic member of Congress–are: Earth Times, PR Newswire, Eurweb, Urban Mecca, NewsBlaze, South Florida Carribean News, FoxBusiness, and a long list of others.
It is unclear if Cynthia McKinney will attend the event on April 28th.

We never gave up no matter what stood in our way. This bust of Sojourner Truth in the U.S. Capitol is an honor to all women, and will forever serve as a part of our history that celebrates the right to vote for all women,” says Dr. E. Faye Williams, Esq., National Chair of NCBW…

There’s sort of a sad irony in this post’s title, which I missed the first few times I read it… since so much of Cynthia’s truth-telling has been ignored and twisted by the mainstream media. Bless her for keeping up the good fight anyway!
Ugh… this lover and supporter of terrorists is a disgrace to America.
Please Cynthia, please take your circus act home.
A disgrace to the African-American Race, A Disgrace to politics and a disgrace to America.
Cynthia should show up in a Green Party hoodie.
Good.
