Libertarian National Committee Chair Angela McArdle announced on social media late last week that she will seek another term at the upcoming 2024 Libertarian National Convention in Washington, D.C.
“I’ve decided to reseek chair of the Libertarian National Committee for another term. Tonight, I’ll be discussing my accomplishments, challenges, things I would have done differently, and my vision for the future of the party,” McArdle posted on X Thursday evening.

After making the announcement, McArdle took part in an X space hosted by the Libertarian Party of Oregon. As of this article, the X space has garnered over 700 views, and a complete recording is accessible online.
McArdle was first elected Chair at the 2022 Libertarian National Convention in Reno, Nevada, defeating two challengers on the first ballot. Her election was part of the Mises Caucus sweep that year, which saw members of the caucus win the vast majority of leadership roles within the organization. Prior to her chair election, McArdle had held various leadership roles within the Libertarian Party of California. Angela McArdle has also run for Congress in California’s 34th district on two occasions.
Going into Washington, D.C., Angela McArdle can expect to face at least two challengers for the position of Libertarian National Committee Chair. These challengers include former Libertarian National Committee Vice Chair Mark Rutherford and Pietro Salvatore Geraci, Vice Chair of the Orange County, New York, Libertarian Party.
The 2024 Libertarian National Convention is scheduled to take place in Washington, D.C. from May 24 to May 26, 2024.
