May 2024 Party News and Open Thread

Independent Political Report is committed to promoting awareness of third party and independent news and providing a space for focused discussions. To achieve this, our editorial team hosts a monthly open thread where readers can share news, opinions, and stories related to third parties, independent candidates, and ballot access – topics often overlooked by other media platforms.

Participants are encouraged to adhere to our discussion and civility policies, with our editorial team reserving the right to remove irrelevant or spam content as their discretion. We’re currently updating our policies to better address recent reader concerns and feedback. Please note that the views expressed in these threads are for educational discussion only and do not necessarily reflect those of Independent Political Report or its supporting organization, Outsider Media Foundation.

The Reform Party National Committee will host its national convention on Thursday, May 23. Independent Political Report has been informed by someone close to the party that some members may attempt to amend the agenda to nominate independent Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for president. More information to come.

    Hi Actually,

I see what was meant about the mobile version of the site being difficult to read. I’m actively looking into design changes.

Happy birthday to IPR. Incidentally, you can’t spell my name without it, although that’s not important.

    Trump has now accepted.

That’s an offer by CNN, and Trump hasn’t accepted. It appears to be coordinated with Biden’s “free on Wednesdays” reply to Trump’s “anytime, anyplace” debate taunt. In addition to excluding Kennedy or any other additional candidates no matter how well they poll, the Biden campaign has other conditions, such as no live audience, etc.

CNN announced earlier today that they will host a 2024 Presidential Debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump in Atlanta, GA. The debate will air on 6/27/2024 at 9:00 PM EST. Notably, CNN did not invite independent Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who they acknowledged in an article over the weekend “might make the debate stage.”
