Justin Amash, Spike Cohen, Angela McArdle, Larry Sharpe: to speak at FreedomFest

While the official FreedomFest Agenda is not scheduled to be published in full until June, organizers are promoting Justin Amash, Spike Cohen, Angela McArdle, Larry Sharpe and others as among their featured speakers for what is described as:

The ultimate summit for liberty . . . bringing together a diverse group of people, organizations, and businesses who advocate for greater liberty politically, socially, economically, financially, culturally, physically, intellectually, artistically, and philosophically (from) all walks of life and across the political spectrum. It’s open to anyone who enjoys a wide interest in books, art, music, film, science, philosophy, economics, health, sports, technology, business, religion, law, politics, and more.

The four-day event, scheduled to occur in Las Vegas, NV; 10-13 July 2024, includes keynote speeches, breakout sessions, the Anthem Film Festival, a “Tradeshow for Liberty” (vendors/Exhibit Hall), author book signings, Yoga, music, comedy, and more.

Past themes for the event have included, “Are We Rome?” “Turning the Tide,” “The Wild West,” “Freedom Rising,” and “Exploring New Frontiers.” This year’s theme is: “Are We Entering a Brave New World?” based on

Aldous Huxley’s 1932 classic, where the author envisions a world that is both anti-capitalist and anti-socialist. Production and technology are government-controlled, and at the same time, consumerism is encouraged to keep the factories running and workers employed. Privacy, family, and monogamy (and the strife that often accompany them) have been eliminated. Fun and entertainment have replaced joy and satisfaction. And if you aren’t having fun? Well, just drop a tab or two of the drug “soma” to simulate happiness. What happens to independent thinkers who threaten the social and emotional stability of the masses by challenging authority and accepted dogma?

In a Media Release received by Independent Political Report earlier today, Mark Skousen, founder and organizer of FreedomFest, announced that Javier Milei, President of Argentina, will be giving a keynote speech, and will then be presented with the conference’s first ever “Freedom Award.”

While not guaranteed, it’s likely that the presidential nominee of the Libertarian Party (to be determined at the Party’s upcoming national convention in Washington DC, May 24-27) will be invited to speak, consistent with past practice. While current LNC chair McArdle has been announced as a speaker, it’s also possible that should another individual be elected to the position, the invitation would fall to them.

Videos from past FreedomFest presentations, including appearances by current and past LNC chairs McArdle and Sarwark, past Libertarian presidential candidates Jorgenson and Johnson, and others can be viewed at The FreedomFest YouTube channel.

Independent Political Report readers who plan to attend FreedomFest are invited by the organizers to use the code “IPR50” to receive a $50 discount when registering for the event HERE.

How about Trump? He spoke there before. PorcFest? Much bigger venues for reaching libertarians than lpcon. We have to remember that Trump is almost as old as Biden, and may be starting to experience some cognitive decline too. Did he have the lpcon brain spasm on his own, or did Roger Stone have something to do with it?

For full disclosure, your reporter is a past presenter at FreedomFest having served on two panel presentations in 2017. One with former LP POTUS nominee, Representative Bob Barr; and the other with former Representative Merrill Cook (R), and Colonel John Alexander, PhD.
