RFK, Jr. To Appear At FreedomFest; Debate?, or Just Speak?

In a Media Release received by IPR the organizers of FreedomFest announced that Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. (Independent/We the People Party candidate for US POTUS) is scheduled to speak on Friday, 12 July 2024 (see full text of the Media Release below).

In a follow-up email with IPR, organizers confirmed that Mr. Kennedy is not yet scheduled to appear in the debate with the confirmed nominees from the Constitution, Green, and Libertarian Parties (Mr. Randall Terry, Dr. Jill Stein, and Mr. Chase Oliver, respectively), stating, “At this point he’s only agreed to do the speech before. We’ll see if things change.”

Mr. Kennedy’s speech is scheduled from 4:15PM to 4:45PM; The Free and Equal debate is scheduled to occur between 5:00PM and 7:00PM. Each event appears to be scheduled to take place on the Main Stage. (All times Pacific.)

Having received media credentials from FreedomFest organizers, IPR plans to cover both the speech and the debate (as well as other FreedomFest presentations) in-person.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

RFK JR. TO SPEAK AT FREEDOMFEST 2024

LAS VEGAS, NV–– This year’s highly anticipated FreedomFest will feature a special address from independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. This unique opportunity to hear from a prominent candidate rising in the political polls is scheduled for Friday, July 12 at 4:15 pm PDT in CAESARS FORUM.

FreedomFest is the annual festival where free minds converge to celebrate freedom in an open-minded environment. It is independent, non-partisan, and not officially affiliated with any organization or think tank.

As a testament to FreedomFest’s commitment to inclusivity, on Friday night from 5:00-7:00 pm PDT, Free & Equal Elections is hosting a presidential debate, featuring multiple candidates from across the political spectrum.

All 2024 presidential candidates who met Free & Equal Elections’ criteria were extended an invitation to participate in this debate. This dedication to representing various candidates makes every voter feel valued and respected, regardless of party affiliation.

RFK Jr. Quote: “I’m excited to return to FreedomFest again this year. The founding spirit of this country is not forgotten!”

Valerie Durham, Executive Director, FreedomFest: “FreedomFest is committed to highlighting the importance of a more robust political discourse in America through shining light on independent and third-party candidates. The needs and interests of these voters are underrepresented, and we believe in making sure the different approaches to American governance are given a greater voice. Having Robert F. Kennedy speak, as well as hosting the Free & Equal Presidential Debate featuring Chase Oliver (LP), Dr. Jill Stein (Green Party), and Randall Terry (Constitution Party) at FreedomFest exemplifies our position that a stronger America involves more diversity of political discourse.”

Christina Tobin, Founder and Chair, Free & Equal Elections: “We look forward to a beautiful speech from Robert F. Kennedy Jr. that will leave all the presidential candidates and independent voters feeling united before Free and Equal Elections’ Independent Presidential Debate.”

    @Seebeck
I’m not surprised. They were also blocking off fire exits, stairs, elevators and bathrooms. Were they also the ones responsible for violently assaulting Star Child and physically removing the foul-mouthed Dan Reale, or were those y’alls own goons?

  2. Joe Buchman July 9, 2024

Looks like Cornell West will be there too and is also NOT scheduled to debate.

  3. NewFederalist July 8, 2024

I’m rather surprised that Rep. Massie will co-moderate so soon after losing his wife.

It should also be noted, and I am not making this up, I witnessed it, that the Secret Service was confiscating the aforementioned rubber chickens on the way into the Trump speech. I guess they were afraid people would chuck them at Trump.

“Secret Service Confiscates Rubber Chickens. Details at 11.”

    Not satire, unfortunately.

Never mind freedomfest – he wouldn’t counterprogram the RNC, but after that. Maybe counterprogram the DNC?

I noticed that RFK being confirmed went together with Javier Milei being suddenly delisted. Odd. It will still be interesting to see Vit Jedlicka and Tom Walls talk about the Republic of Liberland. Not to mention Randall Terry make minced meat of everyone, moderators included, at the presidential debate.

Trump should debate him. Even at FreedomFest, simulcast on X and any networks that want to cover it. Leave a podium with one of those chickens for Biden.

Your reporter notes, with interest, that a SuperPac supportive of the RFK, Jr. campaign distributed rubber chickens at the recent national convention of the Libertarian Party, urging delegates to squeak the “Debate Bobby” chicken during the speech by former President Donald Trump because, “Trump is too chicken to debate Bobby.”
