The popular nightly comedy-news show The Colbert Report, hosted by Stephen Colbert, will host California’s Lieutenant Governor Abel Maldonado as a guest tonight, April 29th, 2010.
The Santa Maria Republican will appear on Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report” to discuss Proposition 14, the open-primary measure on November’s ballot that he has pushed. It’s unclear how much interest Colbert will have in that; wonky election rules aren’t especially funny. So it will be interesting to see how the earnest-seeming Maldonado interacts with the off-kilter Colbert.
Proposition 14, for those who don’t know, is the “Top Two Primary” measure in California that Lt. Gov. Maldonado sponsored in the California Senate when he was a member of that body. See here for IPR’s editorial against Prop 14.

They put it up for streaming online after the show airs, for the cable/satellite impaired.
Comedy Central. East coast broadcast time is 11:30pm, but it is taped in the afternoon. I don’t know if CC localizes their feed or if they have one signal for the entire US. It does re-run a couple of times overnight, which should end up being 11:30pm local time west coast at some point. They also play it mid-morning the next day.
Colbert will probably eat him alive. I’d expect him to make fun of this, which should help defeat it. Even if he does agree with it he will still make fun of it. He bashes almost everything — usually justifiably.
What network is the show on, and what time?
May Maldonado rot in Hell for all time with little Devils sticking pitch forks in his ass.
