Jill Stein supporters start fundraising drive

Emailed to [email protected]:

I wanted to pass on something I thought you’d be interested in promoting on the Independent Political Report website. A dedicated group of supporters of Jill Stein, the Green-Rainbow Party candidate for governor, have started a movement to introduce clean, voter-based funding to the only candidate not taking corporate donations. They’re trying to send the message, $10 at a time, that it isn’t necessary to be entrenched in corporate interests to fund a political campaign. On these days of action, called “Democacy Days”, they’re asking for donations of $10 or more to drive this message home.

As Democracy Days’ Eli Beckerman just posted, if every one of the 75,000 citizens who voted for Stein in the 2002 gubernatorial race gave $10, she would not only have a substantial amount of money to get her message out there, but also receive matching funds from the state. As the only candidate who has agreed to abide by Massachusetts clean election laws, this is the perfect opportunity to let lawmakers know that we will no longer support politicians who are beholden to corporations who threaten our economy, environment and the health of our communities.

Please join me on Tuesday, August 10th, for the third Democracy Day, and please spread the word far and wide so that we can get the message out there that democracy doesn’t have to go to the highest corporate bidder and that people themselves can still make a real difference in the political landscape.

Sincerely,
Joseph Russell

  1. Lordie that Don Lake is stupid!

How come this former ROTC Scholarship Cadet and military rocket scientist knows soooooooo much?

What is the difference between ignorance and apathy? “I don’t know and I don’t care!”

Labor demonstrators, including a vast number of women and children, assembled on an open area near the Illinios – Indiana state line near the local Republic Steel complex.

40 men were shot in the back and side [and not the front]. The Chicago Police, inspite of the labor friendliness of the mayor, were ‘ignorant -igsonerated ‘ almost immediaely.

That day’s news paper ‘hard news’ and ‘editorials’ —– witten before the domonstration ——– came out for the cops and against the workers!

The factual news reel footage [Paramont Pictures] had to be ‘pried loose’ by an out of state committee.

I knew that about Daryl, sure. If there’re “moles”, that’s news to me. I honestly don’t know much about lots of the other people working on her campaign. I do know the guy who’s running Democracy Days has been working with the Green Party since Nader in ’00. It’s hard to know everyone’s past. If people got sick of Democrats and chose to start volunteering for the GRP, so be it. It happens, and it’s not exactly news. If there’re moles really working to derail Jill or the party, then I’m all for you posting their names and circumstances *IF* you have serious, credible evidence. Don’t make it a conspiracy theory, those are lame.

  3. Thank you, Joe, for calling me out!

Lordie, some one as stupid as Don Lake sure deserves all the abuse in the various ‘dog piles’ from really solid, really anti D/R activators.

Don Lake is sooooooooo stupid, oh wait, wait for it:

“On a related note, please join me in welcoming our campaign manager, Daryl Sprague. Daryl is the former Deputy Western Political Director for Barack Obama’s * presidential campaign, and we’re really excited with the energy and expertise he brings to our team.”

Friends of friends of friends of friends tell me that there are more Dem Moles than Greens / Rainbow – Greens / Green – Rainbows / independents on her effort.

    ……… I’m just saying

[Lordie that Don Lake is dumb!]
