From the online Trib Today:
Today at 4 p.m. is the deadline for former Congressman James A. Traficant to declare his intent to be a write-in candidate in the Nov. 2 election.
Traficant, 69, is awaiting a decision from Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner’s Office on a tie decision by the Trumbull County Board of Elections on whether to certify nominating petitions for Traficant to appear on the fall ballot as an independent candidate.
Supporters of his are questioning rejected signatures and the number of signatures Traficant was required to collect to be on the ballot.
If Brunner’s decision puts Traficant on the ballot, he could provide a vigorous challenge to his former staffer and current incumbent Tim Ryan (D).

I suspect Taficant is a long way from being out of the game…
Although it makes a dramatic headline..
