Note that percentages do not add up to 100% because the ballot does provide for write-in candidacies. I have omitted write-ins where they do not seem to be a significant factor in the race. Onwards to the relevant results:
- For Delegate to the US House of Representatives, Rick Tingling-Clemmons beat Natale “Lino” Stracuzzi.
Natale (Lino) Nicola Stracuzzi . . . 166 37.64
Rick Tingling-Clemmons . . . . . . 196 44.44
- For Mayor, long-time Statehood Green activist Faith appears to have lost to a write-in candidacy. No other race features such a high proportion of write-in votes, so whoever the beneficiary is likely organized to achieve this result. Faith had run for Mayor in the past, so perhaps there is some discontent in the ranks of the party? The candidate was included in one poll of the race that put her at less than 1% of the vote. Note: Even with the likely possibility of an organized write-in candidacy, other candidates’ names could also be written in. So this is just one story that still remains to finish playing out…
Faith. . . . . . . . . . . . 173 39.86
WRITE-IN. . . . . . . . . . . 261 60.14
- For At-Large Member of the Council, David Schwartzman resoundingly defeated Darryl Moch. The primary received some attention here at IPR.
Darryl L. C. Moch. . . . . . . . 122 27.48
David Schwartzman. . . . . . . . 277 62.39
Unopposed candidates include Ann Wilcox for Chairman of the Council District of Columbia and Joyce Robinson-Paul for United States Reprentative. You can learn more about some of the candidates here.
