Tom Tancredo is mostly known as a one-trick pony as far as politics goes. His key issue is illegal immigration, but this article brings into question whether he really is the “racist” or “nativist” that many people say he is.
In New York to photograph the start of the Sudan Freedom Walk, I was privileged to learn things about Tom Tancredo, and President Obama, that few Americans know anything about. I discovered that while many in the Sudanese refugee community feel betrayed by President Obama, they reserve a special place in their hearts for Tom Tancredo.
Tancredo was the primary author of the Sudan Peace Act, a legislative attempt to stop the Genocide in Darfur, which was signed into law by George W. Bush in 2001. The article quotes a number of prominent Sudanese-American activists who claim Tancredo is one of their heroes for his sponsoring of this legislation.

It’s not a question of coming down hard on immigration vs. amnesty. It’s the rhetoric he uses and the images he utilizes to make his point. The entire “secure our boarders” crowd isn’t racist/doesn’t race-bait. Tancredo, however, deos race-bait.
What’s going on in Darfur is very depressing. I recently saw Attack on Darfur and was absolutely shocked by the brutal violence that innocent people have to endure. No one should have to live in that kind of fear everyday- it’s no life at all. Something has to be done, and this movie is a step in the right direction. Check it out! http://bit.ly/aiA7fg
Yes, facts.
‘facts’ ??????????????
And keep these facts in mind:

Our government has made it practically impossible for most would-be immigrants to work legally in America, a fact illustrated by this flowchart from Reason Magazine.

But he also knows that if Sweden, China, or whatever nation bordered the US Southern border, It’s not about their race, it’s about the unauthorized entry into our country.
So legalize it and the problem would be solved.
Of course Tom Tancredo is a decent, caring, and empathic person and would seek to end this holocost in Sudan. It is the so called “minorities” that need a villain to keep moving their agenda of open borders and continuing the victim mentality scam to get social welfare programs and social justice advantages. I am an American that just happens to be of Hispanic decent and I will be voting for Tancredo because he has that real Colorado, West down home common sense and humanity of caring for your fellow human. But he also knows that if Sweden, China, or whatever nation bordered the US Southern border, It’s not about their race, it’s about the unauthorized entry into our country. Tancredo knows that the United States was built and made stronger by immigrants, but immigrants that came in the front door, not by sneaking in the back door. He and I encourage and welcome new American’s to immigrate here to America to live free and seek the American dream. To ensure that all of us continue to be secure, Tom stand firm against illegal immigration!
Wow you totally missed the boat on this one. According to your logic all racial minorities are the same and so if Tancredo sponsored a bill to help the Sudanese, it must mean that he’s not a racist right? That’s like the “I’m not racist, I have a black friend” argument. In unequivocal terms, Tom Tancredo race-bait. He scapegoats a racial minority. That car crash ad should be all the proof anyone needs. What does illegal immigration have to do with car crash victims? Nothing, unless you are trying to foster outrage against a racial minority group. Holy shit I better call my legislators to tell them to stop illegal immigration or else there will be more car crashes!
