This note arrived in my in-box from independent write-in candidate for Senate in Arizona, Ian Gilyeat:
Last night while watching the results come in across the networks, one of our new dear friends, said thank you for running the race. It was a simple thank you – but an uncommon one. An expression of gratitude for renewing her faith and leading the charge. A deep felt thank you with tears in her eyes.
I know that many scoff and shake their heads at the thought of running a campaign like we did – and I do mean “WE”. A campaign driven by correct principles and patriotic people. People filled with principles of courage like faith and hope. Principles that renew and uplift.
For my sweet wife and me, may I simply say thank you. Thank you for your faith, your prayers, your hope, your contributions and your very hard work. Thank you for telling your friends and neighbors. The race clearly did not turn out the way we hoped it would. The results (click here for the current vote count) are disappointing.
However, because of each of you the experience was uplifting and edifying. I am a better person and a better American for having worked with you side-by-side. Words are insufficient to express my gratitude and appreciation for your sacrifices and support.
Warm wishes,
Ian Gilyeat
