Chelene Nightingale thanks supporters

Chelene Nightingale was on the ballot for Governor as the candidate of the American Independent Party in California. H/T James Ogle for transmitting this post-election message from Ms. Nightingale in comments on a previous post.

To All My Supporters – THANK YOU!!

One of the most wonderful things in life is to look around to find a sea of friendly faces surrounding you. And during the last eighteen months, that is virtually all I have seen. To be sure, there have been difficult times. Yet, your faith in me… your encouragement… your cheer-leading kept me going. Looking into the face of the children, who deserve a brighter future; watching the expression of desperation and fear turn to a smile and a feeling of hope; knowing that I have been asked to make a difference – these were all the source of my inspiration.

My wonderful husband and son have been so very patient with me throughout the campaign. I love them so much, and want to thank them for being so incredibly supportive during this journey!

Yet, what drives me to continue is you… my fellow Californians. We live in a place we all love and care for so very deeply. And we want this wonderful state to be the best it possibly can for our children, and their children, and their children’s children. The legacy we leave is only as uplifting as the tools we leave behind. I want those tools to be in their hands so desperately – you have no idea.

While we did not win the seat… we won quite a lot. We created more awareness in the big political machines and the mainstream media that we will not remain silent as this state slips deeper and deeper into debt. Our voices are mounting… and they’d better be ready!

Nobody thought that this puny little group of a few thousand people living in thirteen separate areas would amount to anything at all. It was just a bunch of rabble-rousers that could be calmed with a couple thousand muskets. Well.. they were absolutely wrong! And that message is beginning to ring true today.

Evil prevails when good men do nothing – as the saying states. You, my wonderful supporters, have proven that we will not stand idly by and “do nothing” as this state becomes a graveyard for business, 48th in education, overrun by illegal immigration, suffers the highest unemployment in the nation, and big business controls the purse strings. The sleeping giant has begun to open its eyes to the reality of the desperate need to take this state back and place it into the hands of the people, once again.

I will not give up the fight! Anyone who knows me is clear that I am not one to back down when the rights of the people are threatened.

So please keep watching. Please keep pushing. Keep up the pressure and I promise you this… “I’ll be back!”

I love you all – please know that. To my team and their families… I owe you a huge debt of gratitude. Always remember – we do this all for you!

It should be noted that Chelene Nightingale received more votes for Gov. than did Ed Noonan for Senate.

I hope the rabid Nightingale haters can stay away from this thread. The race is over. There is nothing to be gained by them continuing their shenanigans.

    AIP for Governor

    1990: 4th place
    1994: 4th place
    1998: 6th place
    2002: 5th place
    2006: 6th place
    2010: 3rd place.

So, in terms of place, Nightingale did better than any AIP candidate for governor since at least 1990; I have not found earlier figures.

As a percentage of the overall vote, her 1.6% is lower than the results in 1990 and 2002, but better than the results in 1994, 1998, and 2006.

Note that none of these raw numbers for AIP candidates for Governor come anywhere close to the number of AIP registered voters. However, the number of Green, Libertarian and Peace and Freedom votes generally correspond (very roughly, but still) closely with their voter registrations – some years above, some below, but in no case off by a factor of 5-10x as is usually the case with the AIP.

This is more evidence for my contention that most people who are registered with the AIP are registered with that party by mistake, thinking they are registering independent; that is, they meant to check the decline to state a political party box.

If this is insufficient evidence, we can also look at the primary results for each year.

    Marilyn Seals (PFP) 70,864 1.02%
    Theresa F. Dietrich (AIP) 67,103 0.97%

These are old election returns but you might recognize some of the names.
1970 was the first election for Governor with candidates from the AIP and the PFP. William Shearer was founder of the AIP, but could not attract conservatives away from Ronald Reagan.

Elizabeth Keathley, PFP candidate in 1974, ran as a libertarian, and was opposed by the socialist faction of PFP. She quit PFP and endorsed the Libertarian Party in 1975.

In general, returns from the 1970s show that the American Independent Party after 1970 was a residue of Wallace supporters, declining in numbers as George Wallace faded from the national scene. From time to time JBS activists and others on the right get inolved, but it is a shadow of the Wallace campaign of 1968.

and yet she is a divider, not a uniter, and highly delusional. The obviously biased anti California AIP crew at IPR needs to explain how she can ‘get by’ with such statement given the avalanche of criticism since August 2009.

I mean some folks put on shades / sun glasses to protect them selves from the harsh glare of reality, but welder’s goggles?

  9. Peter Gemma

I’d like to see how much media coverage Nightingale received as opposed to other AIP candidates – this year and even previous years. That can’t be measured I suppose, but if it could I suspect she did very well considering how she comes across in the media. AIP/Nightingale investments in PR/media from now until the next election will have consequences in the party’s 2012 vote totals.

  10. Don Grundmann

” and yet she is a divider, not a uniter, and highly delusional.”

Response – Lake – Yet another beyond nitwit statement by you. A) You put capital letters in the word ” DELUSIONAL ” and are the absolute last person to call anyone else such a name much less Chelene. Another one of your ” making it up as you go along ” comments. B) ” a divider, not a uniter.” Incredible. An absolute nitwit comment which has no basis in reality. Who would want to ” unite ” with a total nitwit like you; a person who continually put out fantastically outrageous lies against Chelene day after day after day??? It is YOU who are a ” divider ” far more than Chelene could ever possibly be. Bottom line – Chelene united people to fight for the future of our state and nation. Your ultra corrupt friends, for whom you are merely a stupid lackey, have done more to destroy the 3rd party conservative movement than anyone else. Of course that has been, and still is, your intent all along.

  11. Best We Can Do? [Lake]

Davi, both Quirk and Joogle seemed to applaud the extremely negative ‘involuntary support’. It seems like these folks just did not get it.

I suspect that not only did Nightmare Nightingale turn a blind eye toward the avalanche of negatives, in cluding out selves, but the last thing she will ever do is ‘thank her INVOLUNTARY supporters’ whom were duped into cooperation.

  12. Best We Can Do? [Lake]

Some thing like ‘I wish to thank, with every cashed check, all the folks I have duped, or even out right lied to, and keep those cards and letters coming in well meaning, but duped INVOLUNTARY support, the electric bill is over due!’ Some thing like that? So Mister Quirk, where is the reference for Nightmare Nightingale thanking her INVOLUNTARY supporter. I have yet to find it.’]

  13. Single Winner Districts = Neanderthal Attractor

    #16, Davie;

…well, what we do is factor in as many names as possible, and then the top 100 names are elected on a four year cycle, in consecutive ranked order with all other names under 100, as consecutively ranked names as back-ups. Then we group the names into parties.

I was just inviting your name to join…if you want to see your name get elected, you can start by being self appointed, or by being elected to the Cabinet.

Check out the web site http://www.usparliament.org and see if any regions interest you.

I can help you self appoint your name. To get elected, you probably need to at least vote for your own name.

  14. We the people

If she continues to run for crap she will constantly come in 3rd or 4th…but she will make money just like the preachers on TV! Its a scam..she will never amount to anything She has gravitas, she has no political experience (running for an office is not the same as serving in an office) she doesn’t even do community work. SOS was a racist hate group/ Dream on munchkins, she is a fringer the media is aware John and Ken radio called her a “lunatic” and her followers as well. Saw her get reamed on fox 11 news (notice no one mentions that interview just days before the election) she got her clock cleaned, it was embarrassing. She has no education on the real issues or what it takes to govern. Screaming, rants and throwing in buzz words like “socialism and freedom” do not make for a viable candidatre. In 5 years she will still have bankruptcy in her past No education, and no job resume. Unless she gets involved with local politcs (meaning winning and really working) not parading around, saying sound bites she will only have her fringers follow her. And they don’t have much$$ as for republican party SHE will never have a place with them as they blame her for sipohoning votes and they more than told her, if she ever wanted to run rep. she should get her priorites straight. She decided to self serve so she will be a schlock running turd party forever. BTW with prop 14 she won’t ever get the “affirmative action” ballot slot, it will be toip 2 win, and just by numbers, it will be 2 dems or a dem and a rep. Chelene if she ran in a real primary with 10 electors she would not have got the nomination. This is a side show circus act, and I actually saw one of her staff members was “a little person” the irony eh? So The media has caught the foul wind of Nutingale and she will be shunned now and forever. She likes being fringe, because if she had to be accountable for her past and her weirdo conspiracy theories, she would be considered even worse than “I am not a witch Odonnell” People are not that stupid. (now I will be acused of being Mark s, which I am not) but WHO cares!! lol

She’s just one of 100 on our team, who appears to have a little military experience. It takes all kinds of people, with all kinds of different weapons. (Some of us are carrying bazookas) Think of it as a secret weapon…against the Panzer tanks. We just don’t have enough of those.

” We the people ” – Yes, you are Mark Seidenberg. You have used that fake moniker many times before along with all of your other fake names; all simply to cover up your cowardice. You have attacked her in countless forums with endless streams of total lies. Why don’t YOU campaign for office? Answer – Any sane citizen would be revolted by you. Your only ” use ” is that which you provide to your ADL/SPLC masters – to betray and backstab. You build nothing but only exist to destroy. Chelene will always have honor and integrity; something which you ( as an agent of the ADL and SPLC in addition to the Republican Party ) will never have.

= No he doesn’t. BTW Lake, you can bitch all you want, but Chelene did better then any of the third party gubernatorial candidates for 2010 and got way more votes then your buddy, Ed Noonan, did in 2006 and even when he ran for US Senate recently.

    Ha!

  19. Davi Rodrigues

This is for all the people (mostly grundmann)who have accused me of doing nothing while nightingale supposedly laid her life down for the cause…blah, blah, blah.

No I didn’t run for office. I don’t feel qualified to run for most, and unlike Nightingale, I realize I am un-electable due to some of the same reasons I thought she was. ie no proven track record, financial ruin, inexperience, etc.
But involved I was, and for a local measure which I knew I could make a difference on.
There was a group of self-centered half assed wannabe politicians with no experience and no proven track record(just like nightingale)who were trying to create themselves a little feifdom like Bell, CA by creating a city within the county whereby they would get control of some of the richest property and sales tax, and the least amount of crime ridden sections, and keep all the wealth within their little enclave, depriving the rest of the county at a time the revenue was crucial
I was in PR and advertisement, and had been giving it my all daily to raise awareness and educate them to the dangers of cityhood and the ones currently backing it.

You can see some of my exploits here:

    http://www.fightbackinsac.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9168

And guess what? We won. Not only did we win, but we won by a landslide. We took almost 80% of the vote, and the other side was using thousands in money from park districts and other nearby cities taxpayers to bolster their budget.

The moral of this story is:
Shooting for the stars has kept most of the third party candidates mired in 2-digit percentages.

  20. not mark

agree davy. I think Cn will now try to resurrect prop 187. Takes money to fight that in court. Another 501c I see in the making. I know you fight illegal immigration, But it will always be a federal issue. Until the constitution is changed (not a chance) the federal governement will have jurisdiction on that. Yes, I wondered how people could back cn as she had no resume, nothing nada zippo. I watch preachers sometimes at night on weird channels at night, and I notice their one characteristic, is their ability to act…and speak with authority when it comes to $$$ (tithing) Oh how they quote the bible, and on and on…they scare people, then they coddle people, then they put their hand out. Its all very psychological, and thats what I saw with CN. Biggest con in the world. People love to believe in something, even when that something turns out to be (Nothing) poof ~

The obviously biased anti California AIP crew at IPR

    Huh?

needs to explain how she can ‘get by’ with such statement given the avalanche of criticism since August 2009.

Any candidate for election can make any statement they wish. IPR printing their statements is not an act of agreeing with their statements. Readers are free to express opinions – positive, negative or mixed – in the comments, and to point out any alleged errors along with evidence for their case.

  23. Best We Can Do? [Lake]

No, no, no, Donnie G and Cody Quirk think she is wonderful, and p and Red Phillips and Trent Hill stand up for her (if indirectly) even when she or her supporters say the dumbest, unreferenced things!

No, no, no. [Hey where’s Lussenheide and Laisebride (sp) and their (former?) support?]

For some one whom see nothing but a sea of supportive well wishers, she sure has earned a lot of annimosity!

What’s not to understand. Ya want me to copy a dictionary entry? (oops, already did that ……….)

One more time, nothing negative on Quirk and Joogle, but Lake, whom is correct on this matter, gets a ration, and p is not biased?

  31. paulie Post author

I’d like to see how much media coverage Nightingale received as opposed to other AIP candidates – this year and even previous years.

Dunno. I do know that we’ve now had stats posted from 1970, 1974, 1978, 1990, 1994, 1998, 2002, 2006 and 2010 and the only years when AIP came in 3rd were 1970 and 2010. Also, in 1970, the Libertarian and Green parties did not exist yet. We still need data from 1982 and 1986 to complete that analysis.

CALIFORNIA, US OF AMERICA Just talked to MSP Chelene Nightingale [Constitution] and she said she prefers to self categorize with the Constitution Party.

Furthermore, she says she’s keeping her web page and email going a little longer (www.nightingaleforgovernor.com), and that she doesn’t mind if the The USA Parliament, Inc. runs her name for president.

I talked to her extensively about ranked voting, how ranking names #1, #2, #3, #4, etc., etc., (the more the better) makes a big team, while IRV is for single winner district power garbbing egotists. She seems like she likes the big team better.

    Correcting myself from #45

So it appears that Nightingale is the first AIP candidate for Governor to get 3rd place since 1974, and in 1974 the Libertarian and Green Parties did not exist. (LP did exist nationally, but did not have candidates for Governor of California yet).

    AIP for Governor:
    1970 – 4th place
    1974- 3rd place
    1978 – 5th place
    1982 – 5th place
    1986 – 5th place
    1990 : 4th place
    1994: 4th place
    1998: 6th place
    2002: 5th place
    2006: 6th place
    2010: 3rd place.

And as percentage of the total vote:

    1970 – 1.01%
    1974 – 1.34%
    1978 – 0.97%
    1982 – 0.71%
    1986 – 0.68%
    1990 – 1.81%
    1994 – 1.54%
    1998 – 0.45%
    2002 – 1.71%
    2006 – 0.71%
    2010 – 1.6%

In terms of percentage of the overall vote, out of 11 elections, 2010 was the 3rd best for AIP for Governor.

And in terms of place, it was only the second time they came in as high as third.

” stand up for her (if indirectly) even when she or her supporters say the dumbest, unreferenced things ”

Response – Yet another breathtakingly stupid nitwit staggeringly outrageous comment by Don Lake, the undisputed champion of saying ” dumbest, unreferenced things ” and of countless outright lies about Chelene Nightingale. Lake – I haven’t seen your apology to Chelene for your countless lies about her. What about ” truth ” and ” ethics?”

Don J. Grundmann, D.C. Chairman American Independent Party, California branch of the Constitution Party

  48. Davi Rodrigues

    @54:

“Furthermore, she says she’s keeping her web page and email going a little longer (www.nightingaleforgovernor.com), and that she doesn’t mind if the The USA Parliament, Inc. runs her name for president”

Apparently “a little longer” meant only a day or two. Her website and her forum have prety much been removed already

  49. Don Grundmann

” Nightmare Nightingale: making it up as she goes along ………. ”

Response – Lake – The comment above is part of what makes you the absolute ass that you are. YOU have made up virtually countless outright lies about Chelene and are the epitomy of ” making it up as you go along.” Day after day after day with lie after lie after lie. And then YOU have the nerve to talk about the need for ” truth ” and ” ethics;” this by the very person who continually demonstrates the total opposite of those qualities. Truly you are a disgrace to humanity.

Don J. Grundmann, D.C. Chairman American Independent Party, California branch of the Constitution Party

  50. Gene Berkman

Paulie @ 57 – in 1974 The Libertarian Party of California ran Dr John Hospers as a Write-In candidated. He received 1800 votes that were counted, and possible additional uncounted votes.

Many libertarians in 1974 voted for Elizabeth Keathley, the Peace & Freedom Party candidate who ran on a libertarian platform, and who joined the Libertarian Party in 1975 after the elections.

  51. Gene Berkman

To put Chelene Nightingale’s vote total in perspective, this is the current (11/9/10 @ 1:07 Pacific Time) totals for Governor:
    Jerry Brown (Dem) 4,552,290 53.2%
    Meg Whitman (Rep) 3,571,675 41.7%
    Chelene Nightingale (AI) 138,573 1.7%
    Dale F. Ogden (Lib) 127,898 1.4%
    Laura Wells (Grn) 105,097 1.2%
    Carlos Alvarez (P&F) 74,235 0.8

She’s running less than 11,00o votes ahead of The Libertarian Party nominee.

  52. paulie Post author

Hmmm, looks like she might pass the 2002 AIP candidate @ 1.71%. If so, that would put her in second place behind only the 1990 candidate.

Also, I didn’t compare raw votes, but she may end up with the highest ever AIP total when all votes are counted. Right now only the 1990 candidate is in the lead on that.

Either way, this will still be only the second time they come in third – 1974 was the other one. Thanks for info on the 1974 Libertarian write-in effort.

Trent, Paulie, and Red – I make a formal request that you delete all posts by ” Yeah, It’s The King of Swing, Baby ” such as that above as they are vile and utterly disgusting attacks upon Chelene. While I believe that there is no doubt that it comes from Mark Seidenberg the author is actually irrelevant in the sense that such comments should be banned from this site no matter who may do them. Hence please eliminate comment #73 above.

And here’s what what they have to thank her for:
Taking up the water issue without researching the end result:

HANFORD, Calif. — Two farmers in central California’s parched western valley are proposing to sell much of the irrigation water they get from the state to urban developers in Southern California.

The proposed $11.7 million deal would transfer 1,998 acre-feet of water from two Kings County growers’ land to Tejon Ranch Co. The company is planning a sprawling urban development along Interstate 5, south of Bakersfield.

Tejon Ranch would pay $5,850 per acre-foot, which is the amount of water that floods an acre of land to a depth of one foot.

The two hopeful sellers, 3R Land and Development and Donald Jackson, grow stone fruit trees and own land within the Dudley Ridge Water District.

Treasurer Rick Besecker said the sale likely will be approved at the district’s Dec. 8 meeting.

There you have it folks. Chelene was a useful idiot for the feds, Arnolds plan, and their new peripheral canal. And yes, although voted down by californians many years ago, the peripheral canal has been ressurrected and is back on the burner and more, so they can ship more water south under the guise of those poor downtrodded farmer, but really it’s so they can develop, develop, develop. Guess they’re planning on filling the land up with those lovely immigrants that will be voting for the big two

    Gee; Chelene is so smart

  56. Davi Rodrigues

    Easy Paulie,

Nightingale championed the water issue for the whining farmers who claimed they were poor downtrodden American families being starved for water by the feds. Nightingale helped dupe some of her supporters into buying into this scam during her campaign. Now the same central valley water crybabies are selling their water for development. Nightingale was only looking for someone..anyone to walk with her and give her donations. She foolishly aided the very federal government cronies that have screwed the citizens of this state for years.
They’ll suck the water out of the north until every last fish run is gone, and the water quality diminishes to the point we’ll all be drinking sewer runoff
Nightingale is so caught up in herself she just can’t see beyond her big ego.

  57. Don Grundmann

Mr. Rodrigues – There are many people, including myself, who are in favor of farmers growing food and believe that A) the needs of farmers and people should come first, and B) that we have the capability to follow A) while also fully protecting the environment inclusive of fish. If you are a ” fish first ” person that is fine but to use the Tejon Ranch incident as yet another opportunity to bash Chelene is simply another illustration of your fanaticism in using anything under the sun as a proof of Chelenes imagined character deficiencies. Don’t forget that there is currently a cholera outbreak in Haiti and a volcano erupting in Indonesia – 2 more golden opportunities for you to attack Chelene in whatever bizarre way that you can claim a connection. I don’t put such ludicrousy past you for a second. More water for crops does not we that ” we’ll all be drinking sewer runoff.” That is a ludicrous statement.

In regard to the following sentence – ” Nightingale was only looking for someone.. anyone to walk with her and give her donations.” – I note the following : Many people, including myself, donated money and time to aid Chelene. NO ONE – ZERO – NADA – donated one cent to aid you. Of course you ( as with your buddies Seidenberg and Robinson ) will declare that all those who aided Chelene were ” dupes;” that she tricked them into supporting her and that she defrauded them. Go ahead and continue bleating such nitwit comments. They simply illustrate why, as I have already illustrated, no one should support your endeavors but should rather, if they want to accomplish something positive and lasting, just ignore you and let you sit in your diaper and whine. They will recognize, as I have, that ” she ( he ) just can’t see beyond her ( his ) big ego.” For the true fact is, Mr. Rodrigues, that you are simply attempting to defend your own galaxy sized ego via your wimpy and neverending attempts for revenge upon Chelene.

Don J. Grundmann, D.C. Chairman American Independent Party, California branch of the Constitution Party

Honorable Davi Rodrigues [Info. Not Avail.]

We commend you as an environmentalist for supporting alternative ideas which will help protect the natural habitats of fish, while also empowering American farmers.

Regarding MSP Nightingale [Constitution], she is but one of 100 on a team, and ideas and alternatives by all members are voted on. She is but one person of 100, so all the elected representatives combined are 99 members without her.

Surely there are ideas we can come up with in which 50% plus one, a majority of our representatives can agree?

We welcome your input, and welcome your name to work with us as a team.
