RJ Harris Slams Obama’s “State of the Union” Address

Posted on the website of RJ Harris, a candidate for the presidential nomination of the Libertarian Party:

RJ Harris slams President Obama’s “State of the Union” address. He accuses him of revising U.S. economic history and downplaying the achievements of the private sector.

“Right now in the State of the Union address the President is having our government take the credit for nearly every positive action or innovation created by individual Americans for the last half century. I reject this revisionist view of our greatness created by government and remind the President that almost all economic growth comes from small business and private citizens NOT the government. In fact, it is only when the government is removed as the impediment to innovation that true growth is realized. Thus, my plan for America’s restoration is based upon the People working for their own betterment and NOT the government working to justify its infringements into our Liberty.” – RJ Harris

And at LP.org blog:

The campaign of RJ Harris, Libertarian candidate for president, has been getting news coverage, including in the Oklahoman, the largest newspapers in his home state.

"R.J. Harris is running as a Libertarian Party candidate, who also is working on a signature-gathering drive to get the Libertarian Party recognized as a political party in Oklahoma." (Note: Libertarians in Oklahoma have gathered over 31,000 signatures so far of the 51,739 required).

The Libertarian nominee will be chosen by delegates to the National Libertarian Party Convention May 3-6, 2012 in Las Vegas. Other Libertarian candidates for president are listed at the Libertarian Party website.

One Comment

  1. Each and every LP member owes RJ Harris a debt of gratitude for his efforts in OK ballot access. No matter how the 2012 POTUS convention balloting goes LP members need to be cordial to all our candidates and all members for that matter.

Let’s ALL WIN this year ! Try to help your candidate win the nomination, but if not, let’s remember we go back to our state, congressional districts and local areas where we can TRULY make a difference for the LP. The POTUS LP nomination should never be looked at as an end all, but as a helpmate for our state and local LP activites. A place where candidates are needed for a thousand positions. Position where the LP message is needed to be heard !

We live in times of possible continued decline. Decline in economic productivity. Decline in HOPE for future generations !

    There is a BETTER way……….

“Libertarians have quietly become America’s best organized and most significant third party. Unlike flash-in-the-pan parties organized around cults of personality like Ross Perot’s and Ralph Nader’s, Libertarians have organized at the grass roots for the long haul. They are fast approaching the point where they may force the major parties to reckon with Libertarian ideas.” – Bob Ewegen, The Denver Post,
