Gary Johnson, Jill Stein Announce Debates This Week

JillStein.org:

ivn-us-logo-gordita-supreme-.pngDr. Jill Stein will be debating the Libertarian Presidential Candidate, Gary Johnson, in the Independent Voter Network Debate.

For weeks we’ve been demanding free and equal debates. But, despite historic public pressure on the Commission on Presidential Debates to open the event and let all qualified candidates speak, the doors remain closed.

We are determined to give voters a real choice at the polls by allowing them to hear from more than the Republicans and Democrats.

Join us for this online debate at 7pm EST/4pm PST to hear Stein and Johnson talk candidly about the issues that matter most to you. We will post more information and links to the debate as the date approaches. In the meantime, plan a viewing party with your friends and family and sign up to volunteer to get the word out about this true grassroots campaign.

Also, in an email from the Stein campaign (unfortunately, my email has no way that I know of to gran source code for the included links):

The next presidential debate is Tuesday, October 16th and the Commission on Presidential Debates has yet to invite Dr. Jill Stein or any other third party candidates. As we have the past two debates, we invite you to make some noise during the CPD debate to help get our messages into the political discourse. But, we also have two exciting opportunities for you to participate in this week – two alternative debates!

Join us this week as Green Party candidate Dr. Jill Stein and Libertarian candidate and former Governor of New Mexico, Gary Johnson face off for the first time!

Wednesday, October 17th at 4pmPT/7pmET

BlogTalk Radio will be hosting the candidates and giving them an opportunity to respond to the same questions asked during the previous evening’s CPD Town Hall presidential debate, as well as respond to the answers given by Obama and Romney. Join us on BlogTalk Radio!

This should be a worthwhile event and I look forward to viewing on YouTube after I get out of work. We can poo poo on the Debate Commission all we want but we can also be thankful to live in the era of the internet. We can spread the word via Facebook, Twitter, e-mail. People are looking for alternatives and they can find them despite the best efforts of Obama, Romney and The Olde Media.
