American Freedom Party Calls NY Mayor a Communist

From Mark Wachtler at Opposition News:

As more Americans slowly move from the political center to one of the two extremes, the groups and people on the far left and right gain strength, supporters and power. Two of those entities – NY Mayor Bill de Blasio on the left and the American Freedom Party on the right – despise each other. And AFP leaders released a statement this week showing exactly what they think of New York’s controversial Mayor after two NYPD officers were murdered by a racially charged, hate-filled assassin.

Showing just how much police officers, especially in New York, hate NY Mayor Bill de Blasio, instead of morning their fallen fellow officer and showing respect at his funeral, an army of attending NYPD officers used the solemn event to air their political grievances by turning their backs to the Mayor in front of dozens of news cameras. At a recent graduation ceremony, police officers in attendance loudly booed the Mayor as he addressed the crowd.

Now, the American Freedom Party has joined NYC police officers in condemning de Blasio. In fact, two days ago the AFP published a report titled, ’10 Quick Facts you may not know about NYC Mayor Bill De Blasio’. It could have easily been named, ‘top 10 reasons NY Mayor de Blasio is a Communist’.

From the American Freedom Party website:

Here are ten interesting facts you may not know about New York City’s Communist Democrat Mayor Bill de Blasio, who was elected in 2013 with a whopping 72% of the vote. The leftist mayor is accused of fostering an environment that led to the tragic execution-style racial assassinations of two NYPD officers on Saturday.

•Bill de Blasio was born Warren Wilhelm, Jr., on May 8, 1961. He first changed his name to the hyphenated Warren de Blasio-Wilhelm, adding his mother’s maiden name. In 2002, he dropped the “Warren” and the “Wilhelm,” and changed his name for a second time to what it is currently, Bill de Blasio.

•Bill de Blasio was the campaign manager for Hillary Clinton’s Senate campaign in 2000.

•Bill de Blasio was a fervent supporter of the Marxist Sandinista government in Nicaragua in the 1980s, a government that was backed by the Communist Soviet Union and Cuba.

•At the height of Cold War tension, while still a student at New York University, de Blasio toured the Communist Soviet Union in 1983.

•His first job was in 1984 with the NYC Department of Juvenile Justice.

•Bill de Blasio received a master’s degree in International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, the same school attended by Barack Obama.

•Bill de Blasio ran Democrat New York Congressman Charlie Rangel’s re-election campaign in 1994.

•In 1994, Bill de Blasio married a lesbian activist, Chirlane McCray. The newlyweds honeymooned in Fidel Castro’s Communist Cuba.

•In 2009, de Blasio’s election campaign to be NYC’s third “Public Advocate” was supported by the pro-Communism, Working Families Party.

•Both of de Blasio’s parents were communists, leading historian Ron Radosh to describe him as a “bona fide red diaper baby.” *Red diaper baby describes a child of parents who were members of the United States Communist Party (CPUSA) or were close to the party or sympathetic to its aims.

Actually, Mayor De Blasio is quite far to the left, and quite pro-government – as you would expect from a Mayor elected in New York City. His less than servile attitude toward the police would be his most commendable attribute, if he were less servile toward the police than he is.

One of the things I find distasteful about fascist propaganda is how often it plays off of base prejudices fostered by corporate media and then turns around and castigates corporate media as elitist disinformation. There is a cynical, opportunist quality to that sort of writing. But perhaps a fascist would say its not so much the accuracy of the message but the feelings aroused by the message that matters.

“racial assassinations of two NYPD officers”

Wow, I would have thought the AFP would have been happy about that. Black guy kills a Hispanic cop, an Asian cop and then himself. Wouldn’t that be a “win-win-win” for the AFP racist fascists, or are they too busy licking cop boots in the hopes of lenient treatment when they get arrested?

The entire list is just precious, but if I had to pick one the description of Columbia as “the same school Barack Obama attended.” probably takes the cake.

Also, everybody knows that only Communists adopt a nickname or switch their last name from one parent’s to another. Just ask William Jefferson Blythe III. Clearly an act of devious COMMUNIST deception, to take a stepfather’s surname or your mother’s maiden name.

    >> Bill de Blasio received a master’s degree in International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, the same school attended by Barack Obama. <<

Does this mean that Bill de Blasio was Wayne Allan Root's classmate?

  6. Mark Axinn

Except that de Blasio got his Masters from Columbia’s School of International Affairs where Carter’s NSA Chief Brzezinski, a geopolitical realist, taught for a while. Root and Obama are alums from my alma mater, Columbia College, class of 1983. (I was there in the 70’s.)

Other well-known Commie pinkos who graduated Columbia College (or King’s College as it was first known) include Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, Richard Rogers, Oscar Hammerstein, Lou Gehrig and Art Garfunkel.

Perhaps the AFP figures Columbia became a hotbed of Communism once it picked that well-known radical leftist Dwight Eisenhower to become University President in 1948.

What a dastardly bunch of commies!

Did anyone else find this at least mildly quixotic? Why would a lesbian marry him? Who really cares where they would have honeymooned since most business meetings would probably have more action.

“Why would a lesbian marry him?”

She once claimed to be a lesbian, now she’s married to a man. Sexuality is sometimes a static thing, the labels don’t always fit correctly.

  10. paulie

Maybe they are trying to imply he is gay. Or maybe that the DeBlasios are sex freaks who are into threesomes and orgies. Or that her bisexuality infected him somehow. Who knows with these AFP weirdos what they could be trying to imply?

Hello! It was in Fidel Castro’s Communist Cuba! They were probably there to discuss their communist plot to take over the USA with him, starting with NYC. Maybe they even had a sex orgy with Fidel Castro and some Cuban chicks? LOL.

  12. Gene Berkman

Apparently when they honeymooned in Castro’s Cuba, DeBlasio kept his wife’s lesbian tendencies a secret. The Cuban Reds are down on gay people.

Why would a lesbian marry him?

I assumed it was a marriage of convenience, like Bill and Hillary. 🙂

“Why would a lesbian marry him?”

The article said “lesbian activist,” which could be three things, depending on the author’s conception of proper comma usage.

1.) She could be a lesbian, and also an activist of some kind (perhaps a lesbian who is a marxist activist, in which case, there’s at least some crude rationale to the AFP mentioning this). In which case, it’s (1.a) a “marriage of convenience,” or (1.b) she’s not a total lesbian, or (1.c)she’s willing to put her total lesbianism aside because her love of Bill de Blasio overcomes her love of women. “1c” is probably the least likely of the prior. If it’s “1a,” then the implication is that one or both of BdB and his wife are, or have in the past, screwing other people, and thus enraging AFP’s primordial old-testament sky-god.

2.) She could be a straight woman who defends lesbians and/or their rights. ie: (2.a) A straight woman who is a “lesbian activist.” This would be consistent with her marrying a man, and being a mainstream Democrat. However, in this case, the article should probably have said she’s a “gay rights activist.” Of course, if she only defended the rights of lesbians, but thought that gay men shouldn’t have any rights, then I suppose that she could be called a “lesbian activist,” in which case she’d be defending something similar to the view (2.b) on the popular t-shirt, “I support gay rights if both chicks are hot,” which is a view that is very rare among women, especially women who are members of the mainstream Democratic Party.

3.) She could be a woman who, for whatever reasons, is an activist only while she is lesbian. She was a lesbian in college, and was an activist while lesbian, and then later she wasn’t a lesbian anymore, and that abandonment of lesbianism corresponded with her abandonment of activism. Ie: the same part of the brain responsible for her urges to sleep with women was also responsible for her urges to engage in activism(similar to #1 above, but actually contingent on her lesbianism). If this was the case, and whilst an activist she was also a “gay rights activist” who only defended the gay rights of women, then she would be a double lesbian activist, a “lesbian lesbian activist.” From a straight reading of the text (pun definitely intended), this seems to be the meaning that is closest to the text’s literal intended meaning. It also seems less likely than them meaning 1.a. ie: “If you’re not mad that Bill de Blasio isn’t a 100% servile, mindless supporter of the cops, then maybe you’re mad that his marriage to his wife isn’t a ‘real’ or ‘standard’ christian marriage.”

I think the AFP’s point boils down to “There’s something unsavory and unchristian (in the conformist sense) going on with Bill de Blasio.” Translated into a language more typical of AFP’s support base, “Bill de Blasio is some kind of commie pinko faggot.”

This has been a stimulating several minutes pondering the “socially conservative” (bigoted) mindset, but I think I’ll be off to work after I post some recommended reading on the subject.

    Regarding Mrs. DeBlasio: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chirlane_McCray#Career

McCray enrolled at Wellesley College in 1972. While studying there, she became a member of the Combahee River Collective,[4] a black feminist lesbian organization, which inspired her to write prose and poetry.[7]

After graduation, she moved to New York City to work for Redbook. She published an essay in Essence magazine in 1979, entitled “I Am a Lesbian”,[4][8] an essay described as “groundbreaking” for how a black woman discussed her sexuality in a black magazine.[5] The purpose of the essay was to “dispel the myth that there are no gay black people”.[9]

Asked about her sexuality, McCray has stated that she hates “labels”.[17] In 2012, when asked about her 1979 essay, she commented: “In the 1970s, I identified as a lesbian and wrote about it. In 1991, I met the love of my life, married him.”[18]

Those of us who post articles and run the site in practice don’t have that level of control over how IPR is formatted, and the actual owners rarely ever read these comments. One thing I can tell you right now is that if you include more than one link in the same comment or if your name and email address that you enter don’t exactly match a previously approved comment it will get held up for moderation by the automated spam filter. I used to have a level of permission here that allowed me to adjust the spam filter settings, but I don’t anymore. As I understand it, most neo-fascists and/or white nationalists aren’t nearly so fond of Christianity as a lot of people assume. Some of them are Christians, but a lot of them are either atheists or adherents of various types of paganism.

Well, if their model is National Socialism, then Christianity is absolutely unacceptable and even paganism is unlikely to be permitted. As far as I understand it, everything fascism stands for is entirely antithetical to Judeo-Christian morality and principles, which place love of God and mankind way above love of the State.

I know it’s fiction, but there’s a great scene in Sophie’s Choice when one of the bigwig Nazis admits to Sophie that he used to be a Christian before the rise of the Third Reich.

Nazi Germany had an official German Christian Church, and was officially a Christian nation. Hitler publicly claimed to be a Christian. In private, many top nazis were pagans.

IIRC Mussolini was nominally Catholic, but had a lot of friction with the Catholic church (and any other institution with a lot of power in Italy that was not the fascist state). Relations between the Catholic Church and nazi Germany were at the very least cordial, if not downright friendly. Southern Germany, where nazism first emerged, is primarily Catholic.

Nazi symbolism borrows heavily from paganism. Neo-nazis today are a mix of self-described Christians, Pagans and atheists/agnostics.

  22. Jed Ziggler Post author

There is the Christian Identity movement that is part of Nazism & Neo-Nazism. Examples include Aryan Nations, Church of Jesus Christ-Christian, & Phineas Priesthood.

As far as paganism in Nazism, Hitler was obsessed with the occult. There are a number of Satanic Nazis & Neo-Nazis on Twitter & elsewhere. German Heathen’s Front is Neopagan, Nationalist Front is mostly pagan.

There are even gay Nazis. I know of two. One believes the racialist/neo-Nazi screed but supports gay rights. The other is the definition of self-hatred. He’s never been anything but nice to me, but has told me many times that he believes he & I should be in a concentration camp, or worse.

There are a lot of them who are in the closet. A few are out.

Perhaps. Josephine Baker was pretty much openly bisexual, although I’m not sure to what extent the general public was aware of that.
