Robert Fantina writes at CounterPunch: “There is currently much excitement in the United States about the possibility of the first woman president,” and “this writer, too, has begun to share some enthusiasm about the possibility of a woman in the White House.”
He is referring to Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein, not Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton, about whom he writes that her “nomination and election…may appear to be a foregone conclusion,” but she is “expected to raise close to $2 billion dollars to purchase the presidency; a very tidy sum, provided by the corporations that own her.” Fantina concludes, “One hesitates to say that change is possible in the United States…but the Stein candidacy does show some potential.”
