Libertarian.
This is our word. This is a word that describes someone who believes in individual freedom to pursue happiness however one chooses as long as one doesn’t use force or fraud against another. This is a beautiful word with a beautiful meaning.
Republican.
This is not our word. This is a word that describes McConnell, Paul, Boehner, Massie, Cruz, McCain, Rubio, Christie, and Trump. This is a word that encompasses those who vote to expand corporate welfare (Ex-Im Bank), reauthorize PATRIOT Act spying on all Americans, and fund Obamacare. This is a word so broad that it has no meaning.
Democrat.
This is not our word. This is a word that describes Clinton, Sanders, Webb, O’Malley, Pelosi, Reid, and Obama. This is a word that encompasses those who vote to expand corporate welfare (Ex-Im Bank), reauthorize PATRIOT Act spying on all Americans, and fund Obamacare This is a word so broad that it has no meaning.
It is no wonder that old party politicians want to adopt our beautiful word, but without embracing its beautiful meaning. We must speak clearly and boldly about what our word means so there can be no mistake. We must speak clearly and boldly so that when old party politicians try to use our word, people will call them on it.
People will ask why they are using our word if they want to lock people in cages for what they put in their bodies. People will ask why they are using our word if they support sending Americans to die overseas in foreign wars. People will ask why they are using our word when they support taking tax money from the poor and middle class to give to corporate cronies like Boeing.
The Libertarian Party is your party if you believe in our word. It is the only political party committed to all of your freedoms, all of the time. If you believe in our word, it’s time to come home.
Together we will win.
#Libertarian

me: Who is doing this?
‘Libertarian’ might be a beautiful word, but the word ‘Liberty’ is even more beautiful and especially would be even more appealing to the American voter, should a organized third party happen to adopt it as it’s title.
IMHO.
Thanks for posting this.
Below is an interesting piece on the etymology of the word libertarian in a political sense. While the term “libertarian” goes back to the Enlightenment, it was first used in a political context as a synonym for anarchist in late 19th century France.
