Chuck Baldwin: MOLON LABE, Mr. Obama

Chuck Baldwin

From 2008 Constitution Party presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin, reposted to the Independent American Party website:

In his speech following the recent Oregon shootings, Barack Obama hinted that he favors gun confiscation in the United States and that he would like to see America follow the examples of Australia and Great Britain.

Breitbart.com reports, “When President Obama spoke in reaction to the heinous October 1 attack on Umpqua Community College, he went beyond his usual calls for more gun control and suggested instead that America consider following the path blazed by Australia and Great Britain.

“In the mid-1990s Australia and Great Britain both instituted what were virtually complete bans on firearm possession.

“Obama referenced the bans thus:

“‘We know that other countries, in response to one mass shooting, have been able to craft laws that almost eliminate mass shootings. Friends of ours, allies of ours–Great Britain, Australia, countries like ours. So we know there are ways to prevent it.’”

See the report here:

Obama Goes Beyond Mere Gun Control, Hints At Confiscation

And just a few days ago, Breitbart also reported, “The White House confirmed that President Obama was preparing a series of executive actions on gun control.”

So, will this “Gun-Grabber-In-Chief” attempt to confiscate the arms of the American people via Executive Order? If he did, I doubt that the American people would get much assistance from the pantywaist Republican Congress. But I know I am speaking for tens of millions of us when I say that we red-blooded Americans will NEVER surrender our arms. NEVER! This is NOT Australia or Great Britain.

If Obama wants to fire another “shot heard ’round the world,” he will follow the example of the British Crown, who, on April 19, 1775, issued an order to seize the arms of the colonists. Our patriot forebears stood on Lexington Green and at Concord Bridge on that eventful morning and, in essence, said the same thing that Spartan King Leonidas said to Persian King Xerxes at the Battle of Thermopylae. When told to surrender their arms, they said: MOLON LABE, meaning, “Come and take them.”

A pantywaist, yellow-bellied, chicken-livered Republican Congress notwithstanding, the blood of our Colonial Patriots still flows hot in the veins of millions of us, and should this president (or any president) attempt to confiscate our arms, the answer is still the same: MOLON LABE, Mr. Obama.

Think of the hypocrisy of this administration. According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, the U.S. government is the biggest exporter of arms and munitions in the entire world. (Look it up for yourself.) This government supplies some of the most powerful and sophisticated weaponry to just about any two-bit dictator or thug regime on the planet. It even supplies arms and munitions to the Islamic terrorist groups Al Qaeda, ISIS, and Al Nusra.

See this report:

And this one:

Obama Accuses Russia Of Going After America’s “Good Guy Terrorists”

Yet Obama seems intent on eviscerating the means of self-defense from the citizens of the United States. He wants us to be disarmed. Of course, Obama is the most protected man in the world. He has more guns protecting him than any other single individual on the planet. And he will have armed Secret Service protection for the rest of his life. So, it’s okay for guns to protect HIM, but not US.

I say again: MOLON LABE, Mr. Obama.

Professor John Lott’s exhaustive research has proven beyond all doubt to ANYONE who has a rational and honest mind that MORE GUNS EQUALS LESS CRIME. And, remember, Mr. Lott began his research with an anti-gun bias–but his research convinced him otherwise. Today, he is a staunch defender of the right to keep and bear arms. The empirical data is unassailable: the absence of guns INCREASES crime, while the presence of guns, DECREASES crime.

See John Lott’s website here:

John Lott’s Website

The problem is not guns; the problem is gun-free zones.

Plus, it appears that the Oregon college in which the recent shootings took place had gone against Oregon State law–which allows for students with CCW permits to carry on campus. But UCC had a school policy FORBIDDING firearms on campus. If one wants to start placing blame beyond the actual shooter, look no further than the administration of UCC that forbade its students from defending themselves. The blood of the innocent victims in that tragedy is at least partially on the hands of that college administration.

Furthermore, for at least a half-century now, America’s schools and colleges have taught that man is nothing more than an evolved ape. Our children are taught that there are no moral absolutes. Christian morality has been all but expelled from America’s public educational institutions. So, why should we be surprised when our young people start behaving like amoral animals?

Beyond that, look at how many of these young shooters are the products of fatherless homes.

See this report:

Guess Which Mass Murderers Came From A Fatherless Home

And, again, look at how so many of our churches are nothing more than glorified social clubs or entertainment centers. Not only is Christian morality not being taught in our schools, it’s not even being taught in many of our homes and churches.

We are not dealing with a gun issue; we are dealing with a heart issue. And government is completely incapable of dealing with heart issues. Men have been killing their fellow man since Cain killed Abel–and they haven’t needed guns to do it. But since people with evil hearts now use guns to kill, it is obligatory that people with pure hearts have guns in their possession to be able to defend themselves from people with evil hearts.

And dare I even mention the possibility that at least some of these killers could be “Manchurian Candidates”? Oh, I know, that is paranoid conspiracy talk. Our government would NEVER do such a thing, right?

I guess we are supposed to forget the fact that our government did indeed spend $10 million (roughly $87.5 million adjusted for inflation) recruiting former Nazi scientists to perform behavior-modification experiments on American citizens (prisoners, hospital patients, military personnel, etc.) in a project called “Operation Paperclip” (also known as MKUltra).

In these “experiments,” narcotic, chemical, and biological agents were employed–as well as sleep deprivation, psychological techniques, electroshock, radiation, hypnotism, and various other forms of torture. Some 86 universities or institutions participated in the experiments. Physicians, toxicologists, mental therapists, etc., also assisted in the program.

See this report:

Project MKUltra: One Of The Most Shocking CIA Programs Of All Time

But we are supposed to believe that the federal government would NEVER repeat such activity. Yeah, right!

Regardless of what actually causes someone to go on a murderous rampage, it is an absolute fact that there would be countless more victims without the presence of a firearm.

Amazingly, the national news media and politicians like Barack Obama completely ignore the fact that law-abiding citizens use a firearm to defend themselves against criminal activity over 2.5 million times EACH YEAR. That equates to about 6,850 times A DAY. Plus, women use a firearm to defend themselves against sexual assault some 200,000 times each year.

But here is what most everyone misses: self-defense is not merely a Bill of Rights issue; it is a NATURAL RIGHT issue. Self-defense is more than a right: it is a duty given us at creation. The Second Amendment does not GRANT us the right of self-defense; it merely PROTECTS the right that was given to us by our Creator. In truth, men have a Natural right of self-defense with or without government approbation. Our colonial forebears astutely recognized and aptly applied this divine duty BEFORE there was such a thing as the Second Amendment. However, we can all thank God that America’s founders were sagacious enough to include this sacred responsibility in our Bill of Rights. That’s something countries such as Australia and Great Britain didn’t do. And that’s why their people have allowed themselves to be disarmed today.

And whether anyone wants to admit it or not, the ONLY reason the tyrannical machinations of the globalists have not already subjugated the western world is because the American people are yet a well-armed citizenry. Should the American people ever be disarmed, another Dark Ages of tyranny and oppression would soon engulf the entire western world.

Ladies and gentlemen, our very survival depends on an armed populace. So, why aren’t America’s pastors and churches shouting this from the pulpits? Why are they so timid and cowardly? Or are they spiritually ignorant? Or are they deliberately deceiving their flocks? Only God knows their hearts. One thing is sure: our pastors are mostly AWOL in defending the Natural right of self-defense in this country.

For example, ChristianNewsWire.com recently covered a press release from the Rev. Rob Schenck. It said:

“In a Facebook post last Friday, Tenn. Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey responded to the mass shooting at Umpqua Community College in Oregon by saying that ‘fellow Christians’ should consider getting a handgun carry permit to protect themselves. Ramsey provided a link on how to obtain a handgun permit at the end of his posting. Rev. Rob Schenck, president of the National Clergy Council and chairman of the Evangelical Church Alliance, is a minister to top government officials in Washington, D.C. and is the subject of a new documentary addressing gun violence, The Armor of Light, directed by Abigail E. Disney, opening in theaters nationwide on Oct. 30. Schenck says more guns is not the answer.”

See the entire statement here:

In Response To Oregon Shootings, Rev. Rob Schenck, President Of The National Clergy Council And Capitol Hill Influencer, Disagrees With And Responds To Tennessee Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey’s Call To ‘Fellow Christians’ To Consider Arming Themselves

Sorry, Rev. Schenck, more guns IS the answer–at least more peaceful, law-abiding people carrying guns–as John Lott’s exhaustive research unequivocally proves. Maybe Rev. Schenck is advising Barack Obama and other gun grabbers in Washington, D.C., which may further explain the problem.

And since Mr. Schenck is promoting a film that apparently impugns the importance of the Second Amendment, I would suggest that readers purchase James Jaeger’s excellent film that ably demonstrates the absolute necessity of an armed citizenry. The film is entitled “MOLON LABE: How The Second Amendment Guarantees America’s Freedom.” I am proud to be featured in this film.

Find it here:

MOLON LABE: How The Second Amendment Guarantees America’s Freedom

Rev. Schenck went on to say, “The best people to give moral advice on guns or any other issue are church leaders, and they’ve been conspicuously silent on the question of Christians arming up in fear. I appeal to pastors and other church leaders to speak out clearly, prayerfully, and biblically on the Christ-like approach to guns, fear, and even love of enemy. I appeal to Christians not to look to secular sources for their most important moral decisions. We must turn to God in prayer, search the Scriptures for wisdom, and look to Christ as our only model for dealing with evil. Pastors can help us find a better way in these trying times; it’s time for them to do so.”

So, the next time a Christian family is being hacked to death by drug-crazed killers or a Christian woman is being brutally raped or a Christian man is being violently accosted, they are supposed to “turn to God in prayer” and “search the Scriptures for wisdom,” Mr. Schenck?

I’m sorry, Rev. Schenck, when that violent gang begins attacking my family, they will be met with more than a prayer and a Bible: they will be met with the slug from a .45 pistol–and if I’m able to get to it, with 00 Buckshot from a 12 gauge shotgun.

But, unfortunately, Rev. Schenck seems to speak for the majority of America’s pastors and churches. All over the country, pastors are teaching their people to be good little slaves and turn in their guns if government should require it–just like pastors did in Nazi Germany.

And, by the way, I seem to recall that Jesus didn’t just “pray and search the Scriptures” when he confronted those moneychangers. He took a whip and beat the living tar out of them. He also bluntly instructed His disciples to buy a sword–even if they had to sell clothes in order to obtain the money to make the purchase. (Luke 22:36) In this passage, Jesus made the sword a higher priority than clothing. That certainly sounds to me like Jesus affirmed the principle that more guns (a Roman sword being the First Century equivalent) IS the answer.

And, for that matter, I HAVE “searched the Scriptures for wisdom,” Mr. Schenck: that’s how my Christian attorney son and I came to write a book entitled “To Keep Or Not To Keep: Why Christians Should Not Give Up Their Guns.”

In “To Keep or Not To Keep,” we prove from the Scriptures that self-defense is a God-given duty–a Natural right–and that nowhere does the Bible teach Christians to surrender their means of self-defense to any civil government. Furthermore, I suggest that any Christian who attends a church where the pastor urges his flock to surrender their guns IMMEDIATELY leave that church and find a church that has a Biblical pastor.

Our book is written primarily for Christians. It is not so much a political treatise as it is a Scriptural treatise. Christians simply MUST be educated as to their God-given duty of self-defense. I beseech readers to buy a copy for themselves and for their Christian friends and pastors.

To Keep Or Not To Keep: Why Christians Should Not Give Up Their Guns

With all due respect to the Rev. Schencks of the world, should this president decide to try and confiscate the guns of the American people, tens of millions of us will respond as did our Christian forebears: MOLON LABE, Mr. Obama.

    per Chuck Baldwin:
“To Keep Or Not To Keep: Why Christians Should Not Give Up Their Guns”

Which emphatically indicates why NON-Christians MUST Never surrender their guns!

    Spartans under King Leonidas:

-Totalitarian, militaristic dictatorship that destroyed family autonomy and relationships to empower the state

-King illegally went to war against the Persians

-Held the majority of their population as slaves, who would also be hunted for sport

-Homosexuality was an accepted cultural practice, including in the military

-No-fault divorce by either spouse permitted, remarriage widely accepted, and legal autonomy for women

    -Widespread practice of infanticide

I know Molan Labe is a common RKBA slogan removed from all that, but still…. seeing a C.P.-er invoke them as worth emulating is kind of funny.

On about February 7, 2015, Michael Bloomberg proposed prohibiting young blacks from owning guns. http://www.newsmax.com/US/bloomberg-black-men-guns/2015/02/08/id/623514/
This was withdrawn within a day or two, and BloombergView blog actually censored references to this.

I am not at all surprised that Bloomberg BELIEVED this idea. I am very surprised he publicly proposed this idea.

We should use this against Bloomberg, and other leftists who want to ban guns: They are hypocritical. If they recognize that the problem is young blacks with guns, WHY NOT propose what Bloomberg did?

(Note: Do not misunderstand: I am NOT proposing, or agreeing with, this ban. I am simply showing that people like Bloomberg can be discredited for simultaneously holding two ideas: One, “let’s not discriminate”, and two, “let’s prohibit young blacks from owning guns”. We should argue that they should decide which position to take, NOT to simultaneously take both positions.)

I most definitely agree. There really needs to be a major resistance campaign to the mandatory background check scheme that Bloomberg is pushing.

Full disclosure: Right now, I am classified as an “ex-felon”. See my Wikipedia article, “Jim Bell” for very limited details.

But I also spent 10,000 hours in prison law libraries. I know Federal law. I have read both DC v. Heller (2008) and McDonald v. Chicago (2010). According to the, the RTKBA wasn’t “granted” by the 2nd amendment: It was merely GUARANTEED by it. And that right is said to be what it was 225 years ago, when the US Constitution was ratified, including the 2nd amendment.
Back then, a “felon” was a person convicted of a death-penalty offense. Made perfect sense to deny him RTKBA, because he wasn’t getting out of prison! But in the ensuing 200+ years, the word “felon” has come to mean “person convicted of an offense whose punishment is a year or more in prison.” Big difference! The original intent, therefore, was that people who got out of prison WEREN’T prohibited from owning guns. Indeed, I think that only until about 1930 did government begin to restrict the right of ex-felons to own guns. But most people don’t realize that.
Indeed, today most (uninformed) people seem to ASSUME that not only ex-felons, but also many other classes of people (domestic abuse) somehow are, and SHOULD BE automatically barred from possessing weapons.
Regrettably, in both Heller and McDonald decisions there was ‘dicta’ which states:

“Although we do not undertake an exhaustive historical analysis today of the full scope of the Second Amendment, nothing in our opinion should be taken to cast doubt on longstanding prohibitions on the possession of firearms by felons and the mentally ill, or laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in sensitive places such as schools and government buildings, or laws imposing conditions and qualifications on the commercial sale of arms”

To those unfamiliar with legal decisions, ‘dicta’ (plural and short for ‘obiter dictum) is a statement which is not necessary for the decision, and thus cannot be considered well-researched and thus is not considered precedential. (It doesn’t bind the SC, or others, in the future).
Presumably, this dictum was placed to satisfy some weak-minded SC Justice who ‘broke weak’ and who had to be satisfied, in order to maintain the 5 votes necessary for a majority. But neither the Heller nor the McDonald decision directly addressed the issue of felon disenfranchisement, and thus this is truly only “dicta”.

Regrettably, however, many lower courts have been pretending that this statement virtually approves of all gun restrictions. I’ve explained why it shouldn’t do so, but those who grasp at straws will do so.

Some in government seem determined to provoke civil war. It would seem that they position themselves as enemies of the Constitution and therefore the People. We are witnessing widespread cultural revisionism and manic destruction of our nation by the enemies from within. Furthermore they set themselves against G-d. Surely we are all about to reap the seeds of destruction as the actions and words of our political leaders lead us on a path diametrically opposed to the Judeo Christian Bible. Our only hope lies in the remnant of believers powered by the Holy Spirit to speak and act valiantly in this hour. The darkness approaches rapidly seeking to envelop all. Now is the time for the children of light to shine forth brightly as the stars in the heavens. We must be ever vigilant and bold in encouraging one another too soar to greater heights in the defense of our G-d given Liberty. May our Lord and Savior be with us in these Perilous times. May God bless America and HIS remnant people.

Why don’t you write out the word “God”? It looks like you think it’s a dirty word, or something.

  8. Dave Terry

Jill; “Why don’t you write out the word “God”? It looks like you think it’s a dirty word,
    or something.”

YHWH cannot be pronounced becasue it does not have any vowels and since the word was never pronounced by Jewish people. No one today knows what the vowels were. Although some Jewish Rabbis do claim to know what the true vowels are but will not pronounce them. So what happened is the studiers of the Bible took the vowels out of the word adonai meaning Lord and inserter them into YHWH giving YaHoWaH or translated into English you get Jehovah.

.Exodus 20:7 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in “VAIN”, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in “VAIN”.

“VAIN” – a VERY meaningful, if somewhat esoteric word. Essentially, every preacher, evangelist, “faith healer”, pope or cardinal due to their claim of their special connection and privileged relationship with the “divine” spirit, are exhibiting this “sin” every time they stand and speak to the divinity on behalf of his/her parishioners OR to his/her congregants
    on behalf of the divinity.

  9. J.R.Myers for President

Ouch Paulie! For one thing I’m not sacrificing any goats or any other lifeform for that matter. Just issuing a warning to my fellow Americans about what’s befallen our nation, and what’s likely coming. Remember you heard it here first…

  10. paulie

Sorry, that was harsh. But so was that rhetoric. I understand that by your religion you do not perform blood sacrifices because Jesus took on that role with His blood so animal sacrifices are no longer required.
