From the Libertarian Party of Nevada facebook page:
Governor Johnson’s campaign has just informed the Libertarian Party of Nevada that the Governor has rearranged his schedule and will be participating in the May 16 event in Las Vegas with Penn Jillette. An official press release will be announced soon.
To clear up any misperceptions that have been spread across social media, it must be noted that any suggestions that Governor Johnson had committed to this event before today are incorrect, and the result of miscommunications among the various event organizers and the campaign. In fact, Governor Johnson’s campaign was first notified of the time and date of the event on Thursday, May 5, just 2 days. Previous conversations had been general in nature about the event, with no commitment made by Governor Johnson to a specific event, time or date.
We really appreciate Governor Johnson rearranging his campaign schedule to attend, and for the additional exposure his participation will bring to the event and to the Libertarian Party.
We are really excited about this event and will share the details with everyone soon.
Where’s Knapp and the other “muckrackers” for the Small Potatoes Caucus?
Out back. They’re cooking up some stew.
I love Penn. He’s one of the few celebrities I actually admire. It’s great to see that LPNV have him for an event.
Penn Jillette is great but the guy in the photo with him… not so much!
“Where’s Knapp and the other ‘muckrackers’ for the Small Potatoes Caucus?”
I was busy at an LP event today, so the only response I had time to make to this announcement was to give it a thumbs up on Facebook as soon as I saw it.
I’m glad Johnson will be participating in the event. I suspect his supporters won’t be as glad afterward as they were beforehand, but I could be wrong.
