The Manchester Union-Leader has long been the leading newspaper in the state of New Hampshire. In an editorial on September 14 titled “Johnson-Weld 2016: A better choice” – The Union Leader became the third daily newspaper to endorse Gary Johnson for President.
It’s a binary election, we’re told.
Trump or Clinton. Pick a side.
That’s a lousy choice, and a false one. As our Publisher writes on today’s front page, we refuse to choose the lesser of two evils. Not when there’s a reasonable, and honorable, alternative.
Former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson has a stellar record as a fiscal conservative in a swing state. His running mate, former Massachusetts Governor Bill Weld, proved that it’s possible to hold off a big spending Legislature, even in Taxachusetts. They are both intelligent, competent, experienced executives.
Running on the Libertarian Party ticket, Johnson and Weld don’t stand a chance, unless American voters demand better than the horrible candidates foisted on them by the two major political parties. –

Here is another story out of New Hampshire which ought to deserve its own article post here at IPR:
The Seacoast Libertarians, an affiliate of the Libertarian Party of New Hampshire, just passed a resolution that asks for the Libertarian National Committee to vote to suspend the Johnson/Weld campaign for violating Libertarian principles.

I didn’t say anything about the size of the New Hampshire Seacoast LP. I simply mentioned that it’s a regional LP. I didn’t claim that it is “the Libertarian Party.”
Their resolution has now been put before the LNC as a motion. I’ll be interested to see whether it gets seconded or debated (I’m under the impression that there are other party groups also asking their regional reps to put such a motion before the LNC, but that’s just something I heard).
A regional group in the New Hampshire Libertarian Party is NOT “the Libertarian Party.”
Riverside County, California has a larger population than New Hampshire, but it constitutes just one county affiliate of the Libertarian Party of California.
5 or 10 malcontents is in fact less important than an established newspaper backing the Libertarian ticket.

Please don’t ever hold on a story for me! The Garrison Center doesn’t do reporting, it does op-ed, and I try to keep those op-eds:
1) MOSTLY on subjects other than the party; an
2) MOSTLY positive when they are about (or mention) the party or its candidates.
George, I think this is important enough to post as an article, but I’ve been waiting to see if anything has happened, such as someone seconding the motion or arranging a time for the LNC discuss it. I also think it’s a possibility that another request or two will come in.
I’ll post this as an article over the weekend if no one else does.

Obviously this is something other Libertarian Party members should be aware of. I don’t know if the Garrison Center is planning to report on it, but I did give ya 24 hours before posting my own story.
Funny how the LP wasn’t “a few disgruntled purists” when Johnson wanted its ballot access.
It only became “a few disgruntled purists” once he had that ballot access and decided to run against the party that gave it to him instead of for the party that gave it to him.
This is good news. Ed Clark, 1980 Presidential candidate received endorsements from seven newspapers. Hopefully Gary Johnson will do better then that.
I admit to using the word “Our” loosely since I am no longer a member of the LP, but I still plan on voting for Gov. Johnson. If the candidate were Petersen (or any of the others who sought the nomination) I would not be voting Libertarian.
On another topic, I am currently listening to Austin Petersen getting skewered by Thom Hartmann. I never listen to Hartman, but I just left the “progressive voices” channel playing after Stephanie Miller ended.
I am very thankful our candidate is Governor Johnson rather than Austin Petersen . . .
As for the Endorsement, – TK – I think the LNC should be listening to the outlet that reaches most of the State rather than a few disgruntled purists.

I do know that the 10 members at a meeting of the New Hampshire Seacoast LP passed the resolution unanimously, but I have no idea whether or not all 10 of them are anarchists.

Very nice endorsement. IIRC they were pretty influential in Buchanan’s victory in the 96 GOP primary.
