WATCH: Evan McMullin Seeks to ‘Mobilize This Cross-Partisan Coalition’ to Unseat Mike Lee in Utah

Progressive political talk show host Brian Tyler Cohen, who has more than 1.25 million subscribers on YouTube, interviewed independent U.S. Senate candidate Evan McMullin this week.

“Mike Lee is unpopular, a majority of Utahans want to replace him. The Democrats don’t have the votes on their own, the Republicans don’t have the votes on their own, and the independents don’t have the votes on their own. But together they have a majority,” said McMullin. “I think there’s a tremendous amount of common ground between Republican refugees, independents and Democrats.”

“We have to act quickly to protect our democratic republic,” said McMullin. “I will be one of the strongest advocates in the Senate, if elected, for measures to protect our democracy.”

McMullin mounted a last-minute anti-Trump independent campaign in 2016, winning over 732,000 votes despite appearing on only 11 state ballots in November. His strongest showings came in heavily Mormon areas of Utah and Idaho.

In late 2021 he announced he was running for U.S. Senate in Utah against Mike Lee.

Hopefully, the Conservative Populist Republican wave this November will prevent such a disaster for the Senate. Going from Mike Lee, one of its better members, to deep state swamp dreg McMullin, would be a major downgrade. What I’m really hoping for from Utah is an upgrade when Romney’s seat comes up in 2024, which can’t come soon enough. He is certainly among the worst of the rhinosaurs. Whether we can get Trump back in office before then through the Speaker of the House maneuver and removal of the the traitor in chief and vice traitor in chief or not, a massive, huge, tremendous Trump victory in 2024 will be made all the sweeter by removing Rhonosaur Romney from the Senate.
