IPR to Cover Current (and former) Libertarian Speakers/Events at Freedom Fest, 13-16 July, Las Vegas NV


IPR reporters will be covering, in-person, presentations by current (and former) Libertarians, as well as other “third-party” speakers such as Andrew Yang of the Forward Party, at FreedomFest, in Las Vegas, Nevada, 13 to 16 July, 2022.

Among the 16 headlining “Keynote speakers”, three are Libertarians: former US Representative Justin Amash (L), 2020 LP VPOTUS nominee Spike Cohen, and current LP New York gubernatorial candidate Larry Sharpe. Andrew Yang, founder of the Forward Party, is likewise a Keynote speaker.  The other twelve Keynote speakers are: Steve Forbes, John Cleese, Zuby Udezue, Del Bigtree, Glenn Greenwald, Magatte Wade, Antonella Marty, Maj Toure, TK Coleman, Senator Rand Paul, Ben Stein, and Lisa Kennedy.

Other identified Libertarians also appearing as speakers and/or panelists include immediate past LNC Chair Whitney Bilyeu, Dave Smith, current Libertarian Wyoming State Representative Marshall Burt, past LP Executive Director Lauren Daugherty, past LP Executive Director Dan Fishman, 2012 LP VPOTUS nominee Judge Jim Gray, current LP Executive Director Tyler Harris, Scott Horton, 2020 LP POTUS nominee Jo Jorgenson, current LNC Chair Angela McArdle, Avens O’Brien, Frontier Project Director Apollo Pazell, 2022 Alabama LP US Congressional candidate Jonathan Realz, 2008 LP VPOTUS nominee Wayne Allyn Root, Chris Rufer, and Lily Tang Williams.  Former LP Executive Director Carla Howell’s short film, GOOD FOLKS, has also been scheduled to screen as part of the Anthem Film Festival.

Avens O’Brien, scheduled to serve as moderator on the TO BROTHEL, OR NOT TO BROTHEL? WHY THE FREEDOM OF SEX WORKSERS IMPACTS US ALL panel with Elizabeth Nolan Brown, Ariela Moscowitz, and Savanna Sly on Thursday July 14 from 1:10 to 2:00PM in Trinidad A/B.

Former Libertarian Representative Justin Amash, presenting CAN WE FIX CONGRESS? on Thursday July 14 from 3:10 to 4:00PM in the Mirage Events Center room C3.  Also at this time, current LP Executive Director Tyler Harris will serve as the moderator for the ASSOCIATION OF LIBERTARIAN EDUCATORS: SUPPORTING LIBERTY AND INDEPENDENT THOUGHT IN THE CLASSROOM panel with Whitney Bilyeu, Richard Ellefritz, and George Zsidisin on Thursday July 14 from 3:10 to 4:00PM in Montengo B/C.

2008 LP VPOTUS nominee Wayne Allyn Root is scheduled to serve as the moderator for MOCK TRIAL: DRUG LEGALIZATION ON TRIAL with panelists Marc Eliot, Catherine Bernard, 2012 LP VPOTUS nominee Jim Gray, Avens O’Brien, Alex Datig, and Luke Niforatos on Thursday July 14 from 4:30 to 5:30PM on the main stage.

The Libertarian Party is hosting a VIP “Lifetime of Liberty” Reception on Thursday July 14 from 6:30 to 8:00PM in Bremuda A.

Dave Smith is presenting PART OF THE PROBLEM: A COMEDIAN’S TAKE ON THE FUTURE OF LIBERTARIANISM on Friday July 15 from 11:00 to 11:20AM on the main stage.

Dave Smith is also scheduled to appear as a panelist for AN UNFUNNY WORLD: PROTECTING THE FREEDOM OF SATIRE moderated by Rosie Tran, and with Lou Perez, Camilla Cleese, and Seth Dillon, on Friday July 15th from 2:10 to 3:00PM on the main stage.  Also on Friday July 15th from 2:10 to 3:00PM, Larry Sharpe is scheduled to appear on the THREE BLACK MEN WALK INTO A BAR panel with TK Coleman and Shawn Wallace in Antigua A.

Lily Tang Williams is presenting I FEAR THE COUNTRY I LOVE IS BECOMING LIKE THE COUNTRY I LEFT on Friday July 15 from 4:35 to 4:45PM on the main stage.  She will be followed by former Libertarian Representative Justin Amash who is presenting EXPANDING LIBERTY from 4:45 to 5:00PM, Lauren Daugherty, and Seth Dillon who are presenting POLITICAL CORRECTNESS, BIG TECH, AND FREE SPEECH from 5:00 to 5:30PM; John Cleese WHAT’S SO FUNNY? TIPS FOR SUCCESS IN EDUCATION, BUSINESS AND RELATIONSHIPS, and Nick Gillespie DON’T CENSOR ME: A CHAT WITH JOHN CLEESE ending at 6:30PM also on the main stage.

Dave Smith will appear at the PUNCHING UP COMEDY SHOW with Camilla Cleese, Brittany Hunter, Yoshi Obayashi, Lou Perez, and Rosie Tran on Friday July 15 from 8:00 to 10:00PM on the main stage (VIP Event; additional ticket required).

SATURDAY

On Saturday July 16 from 11:00 to 11:50AM at the Mirage Events Center room C3.  Also at this time, Chris Rufer will appear as a panelist for FIRE ALL THE BOSSES: SELF-ORGANIZING BUSINESS AND EMERGENT COMMUNITY with Brian Robertson, and moderator Max Borders on Saturday July 16 from 11:00AM to noon in Antigua B.

2008 LP VPOTUS nominee Wayne Allyn Root will be an ELECTION CHAOS: WAS THE 2020 ELECTION STOLEN FROM TRUMP AND SHOULD 2024 BE HIS YEAR? panelist with Isaac Saul, moderated by John Fund, on Saturday July 16 from 10:00 to 11:50AM on the main stage.

2020 LP POTUS nominee Jo Jorgenson will be a panelist for the DOING BUSINESS FOR LIBERTY panel, with Austin Berg, and Sean Malone, moderated by Pagona Manologlou, on Saturday July 16 from 3:10 to 4:00PM in St. Thomas B.
