Following a morning of acrimony in both Platform and Rules Committee meetings, seven of the eight candidates who qualified to be considered for the Constitution Party’s POTUS nomination gave a series of 18 minute presentations to the 110 delegates present from 23 states. The eighth candidate, identified as “Admiral Louis C. Hook” was not present, provided neither a video nor other campaign materials, and no one spoke on his behalf.
The two earlier contentious issues involved the current 42 page platform and a proposal by Joel Skousen to substitute his 7 page alternative – a platform that eliminated the word “God”. This proposal was rejected.
The second issue involved an attempt to change the Convention Bylaws/Rules to allow only those delegates physically present in the hall to cast votes. The current Bylaws allow for the delegate chair from any given state to cast votes on behalf of remote delegates. Randal Terry accused those in support of that proposal (mostly the Utah delegation, which was, by far, the largest in the hall) of attempting to skew the process in favor of their apparent favorite son, Mr. Skousen. This proposal was also rejected. A proposal to table until 2028 was also defeated.

Mr. Skousen gave a passionate 1 hour and 20 minute presentation titled “Strategies for Party Growth in 2024,” prior to then also appearing as a POTUS candidate. A disclaimer was offered prior to his presentation indicating that it was not a campaign speech, and not intended to tip the scales in his favor.
Nonetheless few actionable strategies for growth were offered in the presentation, which focused on explicating a wide variety of “conspiracy facts” at rapid fire pace. Among those noted by your reporter were:
Dr. Fauci should be in jail. Mr. Skousen recommended delegates read the Real Anthony Fauci (Bill Gates, Big Pharma, and the Global War on Democracy and Public Health) by Robert F. Kennedy, Junior for background. The Plandemic was planned years in advance.
The dangers of an Article Five Constitutional Convention (likely delegates would be liberals and RINOs (Republicans In Name Only)).
360 million illegals in the past 3 and 1/2 years; 260 million are adults; 160 million have registered to vote. (NOTE: It would appear Mr. Skousen had intended to say: 36 million, 26 million, and 16 million.)
Trump won in 2020; the election was stolen; Trump won Virginia; Mr. Skousen can prove that but was unable to get his data through those surrounding Mr. Trump and filtering his information.
Congressman John Curtis (currently running for the Senate seat presently held by Mitt Romney) is not only a RINO, but is in fact a pro-abortion Democrat (according to a recent Project Veritas expose’) .
Rudy Giuliani is deep state and involved in the destruction of the world trade center by explosives (not airplanes). A murderer who let the firefighters die. Planes were controlled by a second, secret autopilot that is only controlled from the ground.
FDR likewise provoked Japan into Pearl Harbor knowingly and like Giuliani is responsible for 3,000+ American deaths.
“These are Conspiracy Facts, not Theories”.
Deep state started in 1900 when Theodore Roosevelt was recruited to run as an Independent. Wilson was blackmailed to start World War I.
George H. W. Bush staffed the White House with homosexuals under the Reagan Administration. Nancy was shocked. Then they turned to witchcraft, rather than to Jesus.
Kissinger kept Nixon on mood altering drugs.
The Southern Poverty Law Center was reported to have investigated Mr. Skousen’s claims and concluded he was not a “Conspiracy Theorist”, but instead described him as a “Careful Conspiratorialist”
World War III will begin with an invasion of Taiwan. North Korea will launch nukes at South Korea, Guam and Hawaii.
The US will respond.
China will then set off 8 or 9 EMP weapons, disabling all electricity for about a year. Russia or China will nuke US military bases. Then a globalist government will emerge. God will not let USA fall completely. Out of tribulation a socialist-proof new Constitution will be written.
Following this speech, each of the 7 POTUS candidates present in the hall were offered 18 minutes for presentations, in alphabetical order as follows:
Dr. Daniel Clyde Cummings
Mr. David Gillie introduced Dr. Cummings as a man of honor who has spent over 60 years as a student of the US Constitution. So much so that Dr. Cummings knows that if elected he would “likely be assassinated.” (Dr. Cummings later shared that his wife shares that concern.)
Dr. Cummings then described the Democratic Party as an “organized crime” enterprise; and the Republican Party as a “disorganized crime” one. He then suggested while it was indeed an honor to be considered as a presidential nominee, it was in fact rather a “trust” and that while he would take an oath to the Constitution, his primary oath was one “written in heaven” and therefore more important than either the Supreme Court of the United States or of the US Congress. And that if following that oath caused gridlock and shutdowns, that those would benefit the nation. As would shutting down 2/3rds or 3/4ths of the US government . . . permanently.
This drew a round of applause from the assembled delegates.
Dr. Cummings also promised zero funding for the US Department of Education, other than the funds required for its “liquidation.”

Brandon L. McIntyre
In what proved to be the most lighthearted presentation of the day, Mr. McIntyre presented his “Let’s Go Brandon” campaign strategy, further noting that his middle initial “L” positioned him to be not only the Constitution Party Presidential Candidate with the best rallying cry (Let’s Go Brandon!) but also as the only BLM candidate (Brandon L. McIntyre). While Mr. McIntyre is currently only 34, he was born 6 May 1989, he will make the age requirement for president of the United States in a bit over a week. He promised his campaign “will make it to the White House” where he will then ensure that both prayer and the US Constitution are returned to our public schools, private schools, and family homes.

Joel Skousen
Mr. Skousen began his remarks by indicating that he is 77 years old and had served as a pilot for the US Marine Corps. (In answer to a subsequent question, he promised to fly his personal aircraft to campaign events in support of the Constitution Party even if he was not the nominee.)
He then promised to “build the party not on the illusions of victory, but slowly with the truth”, further declaring, “I know conspiracy better than anyone in the USA” and that, “Vince Foster was killed by the deep state”.
“You have to know about Conspiracy History to know about the coverups”. He referenced both the JFK and MLK assignations, where files have the hidden truth that Trump had promised to reveal but failed to do so, citing an interview with Judge Napolitano where then President Trump claimed the truth would “destroy the nation”.
Mr. Skousen closed his remarks to the convention by declaring, “I know I will not win (the nomination, because) most of you are locked up for another candidate; but were I to win the Presidency, I would pardon all of the January 6th protesters.”
He then took questions from the audience regarding social security and draining the swamp. To which he answered, in part, that Social Security was bankrupt – the funds having been squandered in the general account, and prophesying that “Donald Trump is going to lose (the campaign for president).
Ben Stewart
Mr. Stewart began his presentation by declaring – “My slogan is: Love America, Be an American, Be part of the solution, not part of the problem”.
He then proposed turning the US Mexican border into a “New Panama (like) Canal” where immigrants could only enter over the drawbridges (when they were closed), and where for those who did not seek US citizenship (to be made available at public libraries), the only humanitarian aid would be available on the other side of the US/Mexican border.
He recommended all prescription drugs should be Made in America, because “foreign (made) pills could be poison” (at least one member of the audience replied “THEY ARE!”).
Mr. Stewart then offered a novel solution to paying down the US debt, saying . . .
“I do not like the idea of selling off Alaska to pay for the debt.” He then proposed legalizing and taxing cannabis, asking the delegates, “Do you know how many people would smoke pot saying: ‘I’m helping pay down the national debt’?” Legalizing cannabis he declared would cause people who are currently broke to become business people who profit from producing and selling the product.
Police need education. He cited the example of how he was “almost arrested for preaching Jesus” adding that Jesus directs all of us not to hate, but to bless our enemies, nonetheless noting that “homosexuality is immoral” and “we have to stop it in America.” He also declared that there are only two genders – male and female, that marriage is only between one man and one woman, and that sex should occur only in a marriage.
He expressed distress that President Biden has bribed all these people by giving relief to student debt in return for votes. Regarding students he proposed, “teaching every American child to hunt, fish, and grow their own food.” Kids today “don’t know the difference between Xbox and a real gun.”
He summarized his politics as “more or less Christianity” asking the delegates to pray, to ask Jesus, and then to vote for him.

Randall Terry
Mr. Terry began his presentation with three television commercials which were projected on a screen at the front of the room, advocating for abortion prohibition. (A dozen or more others video advertisements are available at his campaign website (see examples and campaign website link below)).
Darrel Castle, long-time Constitution Party member, then introduced Mr. Terry saying that he initially declined the request for an endorsement but having had a change of mind regarding the images of the aborted – now wishes he could, “take those baby carcasses, hang one on every politician in DC, and they could wear it for the rest of their lives.”
See: https://www.terry2024.com/
“A slaughter is happening in the Black community: the systematic murder of Black babies. Democrats and the Congressional Black caucus are pushing death-by-abortion on Black women and their babies. Our so-called leaders have sold . . . us . . . out. They have blood on their hands; blood from the murder of Black babies. We must repent of voting for those who promote murder.”
“I’m Randall Terry and I approved this message. “
Following the three video presentation (only two linked above) Mr. Terry began his remarks with:
“This is not a face you will see in the White House; I will not get elected. Can I get a witness?”
(Applause)
Jesus said a House Divided cannot stand. The elephant in this room is not the dead baby photos; it’s the rules change that was attempted earlier today. It was the Godless Platform that Mr. Skousen proposed! There was no God in his platform.
The Libertarians don’t mention God. The Republican Party Platform mentions God 25 times; the Constitution Party Platform – 30 times. Even the Democrats mention God once in their Platform. If you want a Godless political party, you have other options. The question is, are we a Christ-centered party or not? This is not a job for me; it’s a quest. I have been fighting for babies my whole life. I will take a bullet to the head to stop the killing of babies in America. The reason we show photos of aborted babies – because they work.
If you wanted to end racism would you say we will not show photos of Emmitt Till? of dogs and water hoses? If you do, you are not only a coward – you are a collaborator.
These are the five rules of a Social Revolution, used to gain voting rights for women, to end slavery and child labor, to end Jim Crow:
- Radical Rhetoric. Name calling. Look at the names they called King George in the US Declaration of Independence!
- Incendiary Images. Emmitt Till.
- Serious Sacrifice. Sacrifice of your reputation.
(NOTE: at this point, noting the limited time left, Mr. Terry jumped to his conclusion.)
I do not want a place at a table with Planned Parenthood; I want to turn that table into firewood!
Regarding abortion: The Democrats are running on it; the Republicans are running from it; I want to run at it! Run to the Roar! We will not equivocate.
(Later IPR asked Mr. Terry about the two points left out. They are: 4. Aggravating Actions, and 5. Verifiable Victory.)

Samm Tittle
In a rapid-fire, passionate, rambling presentation, IPR caught the following exemplar quotes:
“I am going to be your president. I ran for you in 2012, 2016, and 2020 and this is it!”
“I want immigration just the way they do it in China; you don’t get to get in for free.”
“I’ve danced with the only five-star General . . . Omar Bradley.:
“I do not fear a man who can take my body; I fear a God who can take my soul.”
“I won New Mexico for the Constitution Party in 2020.”
“All lives matter, stupid! Jesus rode an ass.”
“I want your vote.”
(Note: with 10 minutes remaining, the floor was opened for questions.)
Comments in the Q&A included:
“We need to get the land back from the Bureau of Land Management.”
“Let’s get children back to work (on their education) after we get the illegals out with a note in their own language that says – If you comeback you will be housed in a federal penitentiary.
“The globalists are right here; China is among us.”
“Lawyers can file class action suits in Utah to reclaim land from the federal government.”

Paul Venable
Mr. Venable was introduced by Donna Brandenberg. “We cannot do this with money. We need knowledge, strategy, and a team.
Mr. Venable shared about an experience in January of 2003 when he awoke with a clear knowledge that he was to move to Idaho and work to preserve the US Constitution.
He shared that his father was a World War II veteran who had taught him to read the Bible. But that one late night, at about 1AM when the television station was signing off for the night (something that no longer happens) his dad went to the TV (this was before remote controls) and shut it off in the middle of the Star Spangled Banner (NOTE: broadcast stations, both radio and television at that time typically signed both on and off by playing the national anthem).
As his father turned off the television, he said “I never want to hear America’s song end.” Mr. Venable shared that it was a moment that has remained with him his entire life. “Do you understand?”
Editorial note: Mr. Paul Venable has since requested a correction to the article. The original quote attributed to him regarding his father’s reaction to the Star-Spangled Banner was inaccurate. Mr. Venable clarified that his father’s response was, “I never want to hear America’s song end,” not that he “could not stand to hear that song anymore because of the betrayal of the American vision.” We apologize for any misrepresentation.
(AMEN! was shouted back by several delegates.)
“I want to thank my parents, they taught me liberty. Ephesians 6:12 says there will be wickedness in the high places. I had no idea how deep the deep state is. We are fighting an enemy that gains power and money from blood – the bloodshed of the womb, the bloodshed in Ukraine . . . at our border.”
“We need a Constitutional Repentance and Spiritual Revival. The Constitution is not dead; it is abused, scared, walked on, and ignored. By who? by you! By We the People.”
Who here knows the fourth verse of the Star Spangled Banner?
O thus be it ever when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war’s desolation!
Blest with victory and peace may the heaven rescued land
Praise the power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto – “In God is our trust”.
(Applause)

Following the conclusion of the Presidential Candidates’ presentations, Mr. Skousen was given a 1 minute opportunity to “rebut the attacks made against him.”
Mr. Skousen declared: “I am a man of God I was only proposing what our Founders wanted by not naming God (in the proposed 7 page platform alternative). I am not a Godless person!”
Following those remarks, the delegates were informed that the scheduled choral performance would be delayed as the performers were stuck in traffic. The agenda proceeded to a presentation titled: “A Strategic Vision to Restore the Republic” by S. Marshall Wilson, the Constitution Party’s current candidate for Governor of West Virginia.

Prior to exiting the convention for the day, your reporter noted place cards for the following 22 states on the delegate tables in the room: Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
NOTE: IPR and your reporter regret any errors or omissions. Expectations just prior to arriving to cover the convention were that 3 or 4 candidates had qualified to present. With a doubling of that expectation, the candidate presentations were rushed (as was the notetaking, and as is the typing of this article).
In less than 8 hours the convention will reconvene with the selection of a nominee expected in less than 10 hours. Thanks in advance for your understanding. Corrections may be emailed to your reporter at drbuchman @ gmail (dot) com, or posted in the comments below, and the article will be updated accordingly.

If I remember correctly, I think my remark about “trust” being morally stronger than the more customary “honor” was followed by a challenge to the other candidates (and the world of candidates elsewhere) to substitute “trust” in their vocabulary and, more importantly, in their political behavior before and after election. The point was about general political behavior more than about myself.
Daniel Clyde Cummings
Although I am also from Utah, I agree with most of the negative remarks about my home state. It is drifting away from true constitutional principles along with the national party in general. I received 3 votes from the Utah delegation that were cancelled out by a shameful decision to report the state in a “winner take all” manner for Skousen. Incidentally, Skousen advocated against the “winner take all” manner and suggested that it be withheld until the second round of voting, if such occurred, and that Utah report its true voting results on the first round. Skousen is a gentleman of the first order, even though some of his ideas are not correct (but some of them are brilliant).
Vote totals by-delegation-by-candidate as well as a transcript of Randall Terry’s acceptance speech and endorsement of pastor Broden for VP, can now be found at: https://independentpoliticalreport.com/2024/04/flash-cp-nominates-terry-broden-elects-new-officers/
Thank you Dr. Buchman for a detailed and excellent report of the convention. It gave me a better understanding of who the candidates were, what they emphasized and how the meeting proceeded.
Thanks very much for being one of the only reporters around to cover this.
It’s hard to understand why the Constitution Party isn’t more popular.
I’m betting that the Wyoming CP would have been the 23rd state present. They have an active website and are right next door.

A really good read. Thanks, Joe!
Are you sure you heard Skousen correctly that 360 MILLION illegals have come in under Biden and 160 MILLION ARE ALREADY US REGISTERED VOTERS?
That’s more people and voters than everyone else in the US put together in only 3.5 years! Can this possibly be true??? It sounds too extreme to me. I think it’s probably ten times the actual number – 36 million illegals, 26 million adult illegals, 16 million illegals that have illegally registered to vote since Biden has been occupying the white house. That sounds much more realistic.
It sounds to me like he either made an order of magnitude calculations error or you heard him wrong maybe?
A great article.
Were their any changes to the platform?
Randall Terry wins nomination on first round with 144 votes.
Additional details coming later….
“Russia or China will nuke US military bases”
So, Skousen is still trying to make Russia out as “the axis of evil” and the US as the good guys somehow, just like he was after the Rose and Orange Revolutions…
Not satisfied with that, he wants to remove God from the platform and to change the rules mid-game so his mormon delegation can gain control of the convention. Is he a mormon himself?
He gets a whopping hour and twenty minutes of speaking time, in addition to the eighteen minutes every candidate got, plus another minute for no reason except to rebut Terry’s criticism which itself was cut short for lack of time.
It makes sense that this is the guy prophesying nuclear war while also selling fallout shelters. No conflict of interest there whatsoever. What doesn’t make sense is holding the convention on his turf without even restricting his entourage.
The whole convention seems incredibly biased towards Skousen. Whereas this article seems skewed particularly against Tittle. Giving everyone else’s speech some coverage but hers only a few partial quotes, because her speech was too “rapid-fire, passionate and rambling” does her dirty.
NOTE: I just fixed the initial typo in the list of states (two Idahos) and other errors.)
Am headed back up there now (about 50 minutes away). Anyone present at the convention (or with access to audio) is welcome to post a running Blog in the Comments. I’ll try to add the POTUS and VPOTUS votes here as they happen, but I’m also going to leave to cover the Utah Green Party Convention during the CP lunch break. And then return for the VPOTUS votes.
Late tonight I’ll try to get a follow-up article posted about the nominees.
Thanks for the kind remarks!
Thank you for your coverage, I am a member of the Constitution Party and could not make it this weekend,. Your coverage is the only one I could find telling us about the candidates. I appreciate the work you are doing.
You probably won’t see this in time, since comments are time delayed here, but if internet connectivity onsite allows it, shorter more frequent updates – live blog ideally – would fill a void, since as far as we know there’s nothing like that currently available anywhere.
If anyone knows where a live broadcast or live blog of any kind is available – please post.
