Thank you, Jordan, I appreciate it. I’m sorry to be such a nuisance during the holidays. Speaking of which – merry Christmas and a happy New Year, already!
Currently, things seem to be working normally again (i.e. I’m able to post this without brute-force guessing the captcha, and I’m not seeing the green animated logo). But from late on (Gregorian) Christmas Eve until late on the Second Day of Christmas, the aforementioned was an issue. I don’t know if anything was changed before and after that interval – but hopefully that information can help with troubleshooting, if necessary.
Nuña, thank you for letting me know.
The site uses a minimal number of plugins, and at this point, I believe none of them should affect the CAPTCHA system beyond Akismet. I also can’t replicate the issue on my end as a guest, so I think I’ll need to pass it on to our web host. He’s responsible for the site’s Cloudflare account and there’s always the chance it has something to do with those settings.
This comment is a test of the CAPTCHA system.
Jordan, we have a problem.
There seems to be some new anti-spam system in place. At least, there’s a new green, animated logo when loading pages or trying to post, which wasn’t there before, and now the captchas don’t work correctly anymore. (Possibly due to multiple conflicting captcha plugins?)
For any given browser and any given article, I always get the same captcha sum (it differs between browsers and articles), no matter how often I reload page, clear cache, close and open browser, change browser profiles or container tabs, etc.
And entering the correct solution invariably returns “Error: You entered an incorrect CAPTCHA answer, please go back and try again.”
(So I’d hazard a guess that the sum it is actually showing, is not the same sum it thinks it is showing.)
And to add insult to injury, going back as instructed of course clears the comment field.
The Secretary of the Libertarian Party of Michigan Executive Committee reports on X that Norm Peterson, the District 5 Representative on the
organization’s Executive Committee and its former Treasurer, passed away earlier this month. Full quote below:
“My fellow LPMI members,
It is my unhappy duty to report that, over the weekend, I became aware of the recent passing of our own Norm Peterson (5/27/1949-12/12/2024). I imagine few in the Party have not met, talked to, or otherwise crossed paths with Norm over the years, as he remained an active member as long as his health allowed. This includes the duration of my time in the Party these past five years, at the beginning of which Norm served as LPMI’s Treasurer. Until his passing he remained Chair of the Jackson-Hillsdale affiliate and District 5 Representative on the LEC. Norm always maintained a courteous and respectful demeanor in matters of Party business, even when disagreements arose, and I, for one, have only positive memories of the short few years I have known him. I wish his family well in this difficult time, and I think I speak for the entirety of LPMI in saying that he will be sorely missed, and always remembered. Rest in peace, Norm.
In Liberty,
Daniel Ziemba, Secretary, Libertarian Party of Michigan”

Austin Petersen wrote “a manifesto for libertarian nationalism”: https://humanevents.com/2024/12/10/austin-petersen-a-manifesto-for-libertarian-nationalists
While I personally found it to be somewhat of a house of cards built on both well-meaning but naive pragmatic optimism and more dubious LINO self-delusion, it does touch on several LP topics which IPR and its comments have been covering over the past few days, and it might be of interest to some of you Liberal or Libertarian Party sympathetic folks who aren’t suffering from blinding levels of TDS.
I am feeling rather tempted to pen a response with my thoughts, but also question whether it would be a justifiable investment of time and effort. There are just so many false assumptions and apparent misunderstandings through which Petersen loses sight of means and ends, theory and practice – while accusing others of exactly that.
Interesting. No surprise that LPNH is in the lead and LPCO is climbing, as both are disproportionately “loud” affiliates with a strong meme game.
What does surprise me, is the strong showing from the whiskey states, LPTN and LPKY, especially the former. I didn’t see that coming.
Also, Pratt put it too nicely, but the fact is that whichever (national) socialist runs the LPLA’s twitter should be given a free helicopter ride, sooner rather than later…
Libertarian Dennis Pratt has compiled data on the performance of active Libertarian state affiliates on X, measuring both their total followers for the year and their followers adjusted for population size. According to his data, the Libertarian Party of New Hampshire is the top-performing affiliate in both categories.

I just posted an article about the convention on third-party watch.
Does anyone have updates from the Liberal Party USA convention happening this weekend?
UPDATE: Independent journalists and Russian media debunk western MSM’s fake news, report al-Assad is NOT dead or missing, arrived safe and sound in Moscow with his family, and has filed for political asylum.
Good for him and his family, I guess. Now what are Russia and Israel going to do to protect the Assyrians, Druze, etc. who aren’t so privileged?
One Russian general (without any authorization to act, but presumably with some level of clearance to speak) has stated that Russia may well decide to use nuclear weapons in Syria, because this is a NATO coup in Syria and NATO has been openly at war with Russia since authorizing the ukronazis to use NATO long-range missiles.

In an attempt to “hold my beer” Georgia and South Korea (updates on them below), the Romanian Constitutional Court is celebrating Romanian Constitution Day by suspending democracy and cancelling the presidential elections, because they don’t like that Calin Georgescu, an EU and NATO skeptic is in the lead.
The court previously already removed presidential Diana Sosoaca from the ballot, because “if elected she would be sure to violate Romania’s EU and NATO mandates”…

Al-Assad missing presumed killed, after fleeing Deir ez-Zor. When the city fell to the NATO-backed terrorists, he allegedly escaped by plane; however, his plane’s transponder disappeared from the radar, suggesting he either pulled off a clever disappearance or his plane was shot down.
While certainly not an especially nice guy, he was the only thing protecting vulnerable minorities, such as Syrian Christians, Druze, Jews (for all his antisemitic rhetoric), non-Hezbollah-affiliated Shi’ites and non-communist Kurds, from Salafist persecution. He has now received the same “treatment” from the Democrat controlled US, that killed al-Gaddhafi (another not particularly nice leader who was the only thing protecting vulnerable minorities) in 2011: NATO arms and funds terrorists to destabilize and topple the government – classic color revolution tactics – then supposedly “loses control” of them, which they never really had in the first place, and pretends to act all surprised as the genocide that they instigated.
Already we see the fake-news media denying NATO’s involvement and saying only NATO-member Turkey is involved. Bullshit!
On the pro-Turkish salafist side, we have Hay?at Tahrir al-Sham and the Syrian National Army. Hay?at Tahrir al-Sham is a merger of the US-backed Nur al-Din al-Zenki and Jabhat Fateh al-Sham, which is a rebranding of the al-Nusra Front (a.k.a. the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda that the US created when al-Qaeda Iraq stopped taking orders from the US). The Syrian National Army (which was created to counter the US-backed Kurdish communists), itself contains Nur al-Din al-Zenki chapters which didn’t join Hay?at Tahrir al-Sham, as well as the US-created Hamza and Mu’tasim Divisions.
The only Kurds who are coming out better for the overthrowal of al-Assad, are the US-funded People’s Defense Units, which is the militant wing of the Syrian branch of the communist Kurdish Workers Party, who have managed to claim vast swathes of new oil-rich territory in the east or Syria. Meanwhile regular Kurds are being hunted down and massacred, along with Assyrians and Druze. But the MSM is silent about that.
The Free Syria Army, salafists from the US-occupied al-Tanf region, are mobilizing to protect US oil interests but have already announced they are happy to work with both the pro-Turkish salafists and communist Kurds.
The UN is saying that the EU can expect an influx of at least another 1.5 million Syrian refugees – or rather “refugees”, because we all know that just like last time persecuted Christians, Druze, Jews, etc. won’t be allowed in, but Sunni and Shi’a terrorists, Kurdish communists and muslims from completely unaffected parts of the world (Indonesia, Pakistan, Somalia, etc.) will all be given the red carpet.

In Tiflis, the capital of Georgia, attempts by western color revolutionaries to set fire to the parliament building finally seem to have died down. Unfortunately, these Soros-backed thugs have now moved on to attacking schools attended by the children of Kobakhidze government ministers and Georgian Dream MPs, in attempts to kill, injure or abduct them. Naturally the US and its puppet Salami Sourbitchvile are cheering this crime against humanity on in their usual way, and sanctioning officials attempting to protect the children. Funnily enough, again nothing about any of this in western “media”.

South Korean members of parliament, which voted 190-0 against president Yawn Suck Y’all declaring martial law, have revealed to the rest of the world that Korean martial law would have suspended diplomatic and parliamentary immunity, and authorized the president to summarily execute anyone without substantiating accusations that the opposition conspired with North Korea.
Since the current NATO-puppet president has a track record of replacing cabinet members with old university friends and then wildly accusing anyone who opposes such appointments or budget proposals benefiting his chums, of being North Korean agents, it seems like high time to pass some constitutional amendments preventing martial law from completely suspending due process.

Even banderophile gutter-rags now admit that Zelensky is the popular leader in Europe. So UK prime minister Keir Starmer is preparing a comfortable exile for his nazi buddy at UK tax payers’ expense. It would be a real shame if he got Skripal-ed on arrival…
No error 404s, but a lot of error 503s (both the fancy wordfence plugin version and normal the plaintext http error page), with sometimes an error 429 or the Cloudflare “Sorry you have been blocked” page thrown in for good measure. But reloading or waiting a few minutes and then reloading invariably brings up the requested page, so I wouldn’t say it’s a serious issue.
Hi folks, we’re aware that several articles, including some posted just earlier today, are returning 404 error codes. I’m currently working with the host to determine the cause of this sudden issue. We hope to have everything resolved shortly.

Nice noises, but – ironically – this is also just talk and no action. As usual with Trump, “It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury signifying nothing”.

Jake Sullivan seems to understand that nazi “ukraine” cannot be trusted with nuclear weapons. Unfortunately, not only does he lie more often than his lips move, but as Biden’s national security advisor he is hardly in any position to know, much less influence, whether NATO provides nazi “ukraine” with nukes – or even worse, if Zelensky gets his way, dirty bombs.
