The Libertarian National Committee announced over the weekend that state chairs in Region 3 South and Region 4 have filled vacancies in their regions following the recent selection of a new national vice chair and at-large representative earlier this month.
In a February 23 thread on the LNC’s public Business List, Secretary Caryn Ann Harlos published that Keith Thompson, the previous Region 3 South Alternate since the 2024 Libertarian National Convention, has been elevated to the regional seat. Thompson fills the vacancy created by Paul Darr, who was elected as the newest LNC Vice Chair this month.
Thompson’s promotion subsequently created a vacancy for the alternate position, with state chairs electing Jessi Cowart of Texas to fill the role. Cowart is both the vice chair of the Libertarian Party of Texas and chair of the Libertarian Party of Montgomery County.
In Region 4, Trendalyn Hallesly has been named as the new alternate, replacing Adrian F Malagon, who himself was recently selected to fill an open at-large representative seat on the national committee.
Hallesly is the current treasurer of the Libertarian Party of California. According to background information on the state party website, she was previously a Republican but left the party following Donald Trump’s loss in the 2020 presidential election.
