Nader submits 10,000+ signatures in Kansas

Although Ballot-Access News has recently reported that Ralph Nader is only on the ballot in 12 states, this article states that Nader has submitted petitions in as many as 22 and expects to be on the ballot in 45.

Nader’s campaign submitted petitions containing more than 10,000 signatures to the secretary of state’s office Monday. It needs the signatures of 5,000 registered voters.

Kansas is the 22nd state in which Nader’s campaign has submitted papers since he began running in February. The consumer advocate hopes to be on the ballot in 45 states.

Nader joins Chuck Baldwin and Bob Barr as non-major party candidates on the ballot in Kansas.

I find Suvarticus rather crude, rude, racist, and his/ her/ it’s posting[s] tinted with bigotry. Cobb and Badnarik? Who are they? Don’t get mad at me for for getting them in four years. Most Americans forgot about them by November 2004!

It is a popularity contest folks. Nominating loyal party no names is almost as bad as checkered politicals! John Edwards, 21st Century Father of His Country, any one. The 2007 – 2008 Icon of truth Candidate!

    shouldn’t*

True, I should pigeonhole all Libertarians on one person.

Whatever happened to the “respected foe,” disagreeing on some issues, but respected their participation and principled stances despite disagreements eh?

Oh well, just a little gripe. Just let it go I say.

The Libertarians here where I live are pretty nice to the Greens and we work them on issues we agree on such as IRV and ballot access.

    Why are all Libertarians

Sivarticus does not speak for me. I’m a Libertarian, I’m pro-Green, attended their convention in Chicago, and am still considering voting for McKinney (also considering Barr and Jay, if he is on my ballot, or not voting).

I’m a bit of a grouch? Cute. If so, maybe it’s because this thing inexplicably captured the Green nomination:

Pseudo-Marxist Black Panther garbage should have no place outside of fringe Socialist Parties. There was a time when I didn’t really mind the Greens, and occasionally viewed them as allies (as when Cobb and Badnarik jointly protested the debate exclusion in 2004).

McKinney is just a nut who will drag the Greens into an early grave. And it’s probably for the best, if their remnants really are just a bunch of socialists or idiots dumb enough to nominate a creature like this.

    Fundi,

Sivarticus is a bit of a grouch.

From what I’ve seen, most of the libertarians on here are pretty civil toward the Greens.

We’ll say “good for Nader and good for democracy”

Why are all Libertarians so uppity and like to bash us Greens hmm? We’re all up going against the same duopoly machine.

Best of luck to Nader, Baldwin, BARR, McKinney, and others.

Good for Nader. I wonder what the Black Panther apologists in the Greens will say when he gets about ten times as many votes as McKinney.

I think Ballot Access News only counts states where its official that he’s on the ballot. The Nader camp has submitted a bunch in the last week. Looks like he is going to make it into the 40’s in numbers of states, 2nd only to the Libertarians.
