Disclaimer: The basis of this story is the envelope which arrived today in my mail box. I do not know who received it, but my reasonable speculation is that it was sent to known or likely delegates to the 2010 Libertarian National Convention, as opposed to me personally (it was sent on a “presorted” mail permit and addressed to me “Or Current Occupant”).
Contents of the envelope:
– One DVD (in a paper sleeve) of the film For Liberty: How the Ron Paul Revolution Watered the Withered Tree of Liberty (Hancock appears in the film and is credited for “additional photography”).
– One small (about 2″ x 3″) card promoting some of Hancock’s non-LP projects. Here are both sides of the card as one graphic scan:

– A return envelope for contributions to “Ernest Hancock for Libertarian Party National Chairman,” with the admonition to “Go to: www.ernesthancock.org for a special video message.”

Bystander,
A porno mailer would probably have been good for a 5-10% upward bump in the delegate vote ”
… Upward Bump …
Have you read the questions? I’ll guarantee that the DVD provides no hints about 9 of the 10. It’s a video about Ron Paul, not about Hancock.
And at the time I composed the questions, I didn’t know to ask about this:
I’d love to know when and why Hancock changed his mind.
“So much for Hancock’s earlier assertion that he would answer these 10 questions for him in the DVD he mailed to delegates.”
Have you watched the DVD? Are you sure that it doesn’t answer the questions you asked?
Personally, I found the DVD interesting, and affirming of the power of de-centralized activism, but not especially persuasive as a video job application for the chairmanship of the LNC.
Neither he nor any other candidate is obligated to answer a specific set of questions posed by Mr. Holtz, who opposes Mr. Hancock’s candidacy.
Agreed. After all, it’s not like an LP Chair needs to be good at answering questions from people who disagree with him….
Or to follow through when he tells LP members he’s going to do something…
Lidia got one in today, but surprisingly, I didn’t.
In fact, I haven’t gotten squat from any of the candidates. Poor me. 😛
Knapp @ 8:
Sorry ’bout that. 🙂
Carolyn,
Don’t. Go. There.
If I ever run for chair, I’ll ask Starchild to produce, direct and star in a porno mailer for my campaign.
I got mine. Thanks, Mr Hancock.
I believe Ernie Hancock has answered most of the questions that most delegates would want answered in numerous interviews — many of which have appeared here on IPR. Neither he nor any other candidate is obligated to answer a specific set of questions posed by Mr. Holtz, who opposes Mr. Hancock’s candidacy.
Knapp @ 2: “A porno mailer would probably have been good for a 5-10% upward bump in the delegate vote ”
Depends on whether Hancock was the star or not… 😐
Went straight into the trash. No Troofers.
So much for Hancock’s earlier assertion that he would answer these 10 questions for him in the DVD he mailed to delegates. His response to the questions was:
“I?m answering them in the DVD that will be sent to all attendees of the past decades conventions so people interested in such things actually get first hand from me what I have to say. You are free to pull from that when you get yours.?
It’s also interesting that he included neither the conspiracy-theory video Obama Deception that he has distributed at several LP meetings this year, nor the Invisible Empire video that he mused recently about including in his mailing.
However, his paper insert did include a plug for the “4409” YouTube channel, which is featured in my Hancock or McVeigh contest that IPR covered today.
It’s not clear what “special video message” Hancock is talking about. My own mailing to delegates will be pointing to my videos collected at TruthButton.org/hancock.

Thank God I read it wrong the first time. I thought it said “porno” not “promo.”
