Independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader will hold a news conference at First Parish Church, followed by a rally in Portland, Maine, tonight at 7:30. His speech will focus on energy policy and the War in Iraq.
Nader, then running as the Green Party nominee, received 6% of Maine’s popular vote in 2000.
Maine’s Independent Green Party is perhaps the nation’s most successful Green affiliate. It has elected a state legislator and its candidate for governor in 2006, Pat LaMarche, received over 10% while finishing fourth.

Maine is in the Eastern Time zone.But it is isolated.
I think they do better in the more “isolated” states, too. Maine has its own time zone. Alaska is a good one, too.

The population is too busy being entertained and watching Sporting events to get involved, they take the easy route and don’t bother to think, settling instead for snippets and quick slogans.
