When Republicans and Democrats need professionally prepared video, they have any number of companies they can turn to. In more local races these candidates may have to turn to volunteers to create this sort of video. For members and supporters of smaller parties, those resources may not be available at all.
One organization trying to pull together the resources to produce solid video for the Green Party is Polidoc Productions
In an email, Babette Hogan wrote about their goals. They are trying to use new technology to bring high quality video to the debate at a price that is affordable. Even so, as she pointed out, if she were paid to do what she is doing, the cost would approach $1000 to $3000 a minute to produce top quality material. She wrote “We are economizing, trying to build a network of contributors (we call it eco-savvy producing), though that’s been slower going and less predictable.”
One of their videos, about the four Green Party presidential candidates, has been posted prominently on the Green Party national website
UPDATE:
Babette Hogan of Polidoc Productions sent me a kind note and pointed out that the link above does not go to a PoliDoc Production, but this link does go straight to their YouTube site, where 9 videos are posted. Enjoy!

There’s a chat about the National Initiative (click my name) going on right now at http://www.gravel2008.us/irc
