    The article ought to explain that after the Prohibition Party caused Republicans two lose two presidential elections, Republicans in Congress in 1917 passed the Prohibition Amendment to the US Constitution. The two elections the Republicans lost, due to the Prohibition Party presidential campaigns, were 1884 and 1916.
