Open letter from Steve Kerbel, a candidate for the 2016 Libertarian Presidential nomination:

Some Libertarians believe that the Libertarian Party has a messaging problem. Now they could be right, I’m not claiming to be an expert on marketing. However, it is my opinion that we don’t necessarily have a messaging problem as much as we have a visibility problem.

I think our principles do fine on their own, we just need to get them in front of more eyes. We are going to be coming out with a series of videos to educate the average person on what it means to be a Libertarian. We have also just launched a really cool website to help with that effort as well: http://www.WhatIsALibertarian.info. I have been working behind the scenes to recruit volunteers for our campaign and we now have some awesome Libertarians from around the country helping out with our mission to grow the Libertarian Party without having to sacrifice our principles. It seems to be working so far and we’re just getting started!

There are some Libertarians who think that Gary Johnson is going to get the nomination by default but I plan to challenge him every step of the way. Our marketing and education campaign is still on the ground floor, and our state infrastructure is steadily growing. Plus, our list of delegates committed to the national convention is larger now than ever. If Mr. Johnson thinks that he will be able to win our nomination by reusing republican talking points, he is going to need to rethink his strategy.

If you want a Presidential candidate who is going to stand by Libertarian Party principles and the platform voted in by our delegates, you can count on me to stay consistent. I promise not to use our campaign contributions to pay high-priced political consultants or to get our campaign into debt. We have already done a stellar job putting out high-quality advertising at a very inexpensive cost. If you like the direction we are heading please volunteer or contribute what you can to our campaign, it will be well worth your investment. Please visit http://www.SteveKerbel2016.com

Andy, I believe that was discussed in the original Kerbel thread on IPR or possibly a different thread way way back. He’s fairly new.

I still have not received an answer to the question of how long Steve Kerbel has been a Libertarian Party member. I had never heard of him until recently.
