In honor of Judge Jim Gray’s recent retirement, I checked to see if anything else concerning Judge Gray had been in the news recently. I discovered that we had somehow missed a recent editorial on January 3rd. Usually, I would consider this a loss and move on–but it is particularly interesting for two reasons. First, this is the last editorial Judge Gray wrote while still serving in office. Second, the entire article is focused on recruiting people to the Libertarian Party.
I was a lifelong Republican until I realized my party couldn’t be counted on. Not to protect my freedom or my liberty, and not to be “fiscally conservative.”
So I realized I could not be a part of an organization that did not reflect my values, or the values I believe this country is based upon.
Therefore, I decided to change parties. Where to go? Once I started to check out my options, it took me about two minutes to decide that I was a natural Libertarian.
Judge Jim Gray was likely the highest serving official from any third party as a member of the California Superior Court, and a tireless advocate for easier ballot access.
