Inclusive Presidential debates?

If that’s what you want, you are in sync with the group Democratize the Debates, another recently started FaceBook site. Their “Basic info” says:

Join this group if you want to see all ballot-qualified candidates included in the 2008 presidential debates.

We demand that all candidates who are on enough ballot lines to be able to win the presidency be included in the debates.

In a democratic society, open debate is not a luxury, it is a necessity. We need debates for the best ideas to rise to the top. Excluding voices from the debate serves no one.

We come from many backgrounds and viewpoints, but here we set aside our differences to work together for the cause of democracy in America.

You know this is right. Invite everyone you know on facebook. They don’t have to join if they don’t want, but at least give them the chance.

Our goals:
1. Reach 10,000 members and more.
2. Work together to demand that Google include all ballot-qualified candidates in its presidential debate in New Orleans.
3. If the debates remain exclusive and undemocratic, organize a Rally For Democracy in New Orleans for everyone who wants to correct this injustice.
