Alaska Purges Registration Rolls
March 21st, 2009
Earlier this month, Alaska purged its list of registered voters, to delete people who haven’t voted in the last four years. The new registration totals for each party, compared to the totals just prior to the November 2008 election, show that the two major parties have proportionately gained, whereas the number of voters registered as independents, or as members of minor parties, has declined.
The list below shows the percentage of voters in each party. Listed first is the October 2008 share of the registration; listed second is the March 2009 share:
Independent: 52.92%, 52.62%
Republican: 25.65%, 26.12%
Democratic: 15.51%, 15.69%
Alas. Indpc: 2.78%, 2.72%
Libertarian: 1.39%, 1.26%
Rep Moderate: .77%, .65%
Green: .59%, .54%
Veterans: .39%, .38%Parties need 9,735 registered members to be ballot-qualified for 2010, unless they polled 3% for U.S. Senate in 2008 (only the Republicans, Democrats, and Alaskan Independence Party polled as much as 3% for U.S. Senate in 2008). The Alaskan Independence Party now has 12,971 registrants, so it meets both the vote test and the registration test. There are 6,031 Libertarians, 3,115 Republican Moderates, 2,592 Greens, and 1,827 Veterans Party members.

Duensing is our most fervent 9-11 truther , i thought , i had never heard about so-called missles desytoying the towers , and with all due respect , i find it a little funny.
to answer your 2nd question ( you obviously know a little something ) , our oldest member is an engineer for the defense dept.
He is one of our most respected members and id trust him with anything .
you may find it hard to believe but the defense dept does more than build ‘genocidal weapons ‘.

wish i was bored , Nevada is embroiled in in-fighting and about to have what could be the most contentious state convention we’ve ever had .

This poll really doesn’t tell much. The declination of numbers in those two parties is somewhat small, though sure, every little bit does count. I think the bigger picture here is that overal registration has fallen. I’d like to see totals just prior to 20011.
And regarding the bit about the marches: I think that the 6th Anniversary of the war (along with those marches) should be covered more. With the United States subetly increasing it’s efforts in Afghanistan and the beginnings of what is now a new cold war with Iran, people need to be reminded how much the Iraq war really cost the U.S. and it’s people. And I’m not just talking about the dollar – we’re talking lives here.
Yeah. It is a boring time in political world. Not a heck of a lot going on in the blogosphere.
Though, often that means that people are recuperating and there will soon be a push. And/or people are working on other projects you aren’t tuned in to.
Right now, there are big marches in DC, San Francisco, and Los Angeles about the 6th Anniversary of the war. So, probably a lot of the people that sometimes hang out here are busy focusing on that.
