Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Urges Biden to Adopt “No Spoiler” Pledge if Kennedy Outperforms Biden Against Trump

Independent Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has urged Democratic President Joe Biden to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race if, by October, it becomes apparent that Biden performs worse than Kennedy in a head-to-head matchup against Republican Donald Trump

Speaking to supporters in Brooklyn on Wednesday, Kennedy unveiled a slideshow presentation outlining why he believes he stands a better chance of defeating Republican Donald Trump. Kennedy teased the event last week as a major announcement for his campaign.

Kennedy’s assertions were supported by data from a Zogby poll commissioned by his campaign, which surveyed 26,408 people. The poll indicated that if the election were held today, Biden would lose to Trump. The same poll also indicated that Kennedy would narrowly defeat Trump and handily defeat Biden if he were to go head-to-head with either candidate. According to the data, the poll has a margin of error of less than one percent.

The Kennedy-Shanahan campaign has compiled the complete results of its poll on its official campaign website.

Kennedy then called on Biden to take a “No Spoiler Pledge,” flipping the narrative of Kennedy being a proverbial spoiler candidate back on Biden. According to the pledge, both parties agree to conduct a 50-state poll in mid-October with 30,000+ likely voters, testing head-to-head races between Biden and Trump and between Kennedy and Trump, and pledge that the candidate who performs weakest against Trump will drop out of the presidential race.
