Green Party candidate Dr. Jill Stein announced on Sunday that her presidential campaign has secured enough delegates to win the party’s nomination at the upcoming Green Party 2024 Annual National Meeting in August.
Announcing the news over social media on Sunday, May 26, Stein wrote, “We have received enough delegates to clinch the [Green Party’s] presidential nomination! We have swept 21 states’ delegate selection conventions, bringing our total delegate count to 219.”
Earlier in the month, on May 18, Stein shared a graphic on her Instagram account stating that she had already swept 21 state delegations, bringing her up to 204 out of the 211 presumptive votes she said was needed.
Jill Stein and several other Green Party presidential candidates attended the Pacific Green Party of Oregon’s Presidential Nominating Convention the previous Saturday. However, it is not yet known if the Oregon affiliate was the final state to give Stein the required number of delegates she needed. According to the Pacific Green Party of Oregon’s website, voting on delegates will not technically finish until June 1, 2024.
Independent Political Report has reached out to the Pacific Green Party of Oregon’s party leadership to confirm if Stein received any of the 11 delegates available at the convention for clarity.

As often as he changes his mind, who’s to say he won’t change it back. No telling.
Cornel West dropped out of the GP race. The nomination was his if he wanted it. He didn’t want it. He’s going to be on the ballot in MAYBE half the states that Jill Stein is. West isn’t getting the GP nomination.
I’m holding out some hope Stein is operating as a stand-in for Cornel West and will hand the nomination or endorsement to him at the convention. I believe Peter Camejo wanted to do this for Nader in 04 but didn’t get enough delegates to carry it out.
If not, seems obvious West takes 4th place over Stein anywhere they’re both on the ballot.
How many times is the Green Party going to nominate the same loser?
