The Arizona Libertarian Party is calling for the suspension and formal investigation of Libertarian National Committee Chair Angela McArdle, citing allegations of undisclosed ties to a voter outreach company used by the party and a potential conflict of interest. The party is also urging an inquiry into other alleged unethical disbursements of party funds.
The statement, initially shared on X and later sent as an email to the Libertarian National Committee, urges the Committee to suspend Chair Angela McArdle and formally investigate her alleged involvement with a phone banking and canvassing company the Committee used last year. The Arizona Libertarian Party cites a report produced this week by party member Jake Porter, which alleges a connection between McArdle’s domestic partner, Austin Padgett, and Freedom Calls LLC that wasn’t previously disclosed. The party asserts that if these allegations are found to be accurate, they warrant McArdle’s removal as Chair.
“The Arizona Libertarian Party calls for Angela McArdle to be formally investigated to determine her involvement with Freedom Calls LLC, and her apparent failure to disclose a conflict of interest as required by LNC policy before a contract is executed said company. Angela McArdle should be suspended during this investigation, and should this investigation confirm these allegations she should be removed from her position as Chairman,” reads an email submitted by Arizona Chair Michael McFarland to the Libertarian National Committee. “Additionally, the AZLP asks the LNC to investigate any and all other potential unethical disbursement of party funds. Alternatively Ms. McArdle should do the right thing and resign.”
In addition to Porter’s report, the Arizona Libertarian Party references a recent post on X that also alleges the connection and raises questions about disbursements made to other organizations reportedly tied to McArdle and Padgett, specifically Rescue the West Inc., Libertarian Unity PAC, and Swing Vote Strategist LLC.
The Libertarian National Committee is currently voting on a motion to terminate its contract with Freedom Calls LLC. As of this article’s publication, a tally by the party shows that ten members have voted in favor of termination, one has voted “present,” and six members have yet to cast their votes. While balloting will remain open until next week, the motion requires only a simple majority to pass.

I saw that the post on X with this message was deleted. Maybe this message was sent from the chair without the approval of the LPAZ board.
Then either disaffiliate or don’t, instead of impotently trying to raise a storm in a teacup, full of sound and fury signifying nothing. Otherwise shut up and sit down already, over there in the dunce corner with New York.
From Jake’s substack it appears he has spent months and months doing nothing besides attempting to dig up any and all dirt that he could possibly try to make stick against McArdle. I don’t know what his personal vendetta against her is, but it does not do much in the way of adding credibility to his latest “independent investigation”.
No offense, Jake, but you’ve cried wolf a few times too often in recent months, only to come up what I would call empty handed. So it makes it very hard to even objectively consider your latest round of accusations.
