Independent Political Report covers third party and independent politics, with a focus on the candidates, organizations, and elections that make up the political world outside America’s two major national parties.
Founded in 2008, IPR was created to cover a part of American politics that too often receives limited or inconsistent attention from more established news outlets. We owe a particular debt of thanks to Jason “G.E.” Seagraves, one of the site’s original founders, whose grassroots approach to covering this often-overlooked corner of American politics continues to influence IPR today.
The site does not endorse candidates or political parties. Our goal is simply to make news and information about these subjects easier for the public to find and follow.
Over the years, IPR contributors have published more than 21,500 articles, while readers have left more than 341,000 comments. Its reporting and discussions have also been referenced by publications across the political spectrum, including Politico, Reason, The Hill, The Daily Caller, and The Washington Post.
