Andy – “George Dance is starting to sound like one of those tin foil hat wearing conspiracy theorist kooks.”
FWIW, ‘Andy’ is the guy who claims that Mossad blew up the World Trade Center in 2001.
Everything above the first * was dL
“Yes, absolutely, such revelations could reduce Trump to his unshakable hard-core supporters at about 18% of the vote on election day.”
So, your contention is that the Nov. 8 election has a high probability of resulting in something like:
Clinton: 75%
Trump: 18%
Other: 7%
*
You have forgotten the caveat of more revelations coming out about Trump,
but, yes, if we get more …
Clinton 63%
Trump 18%
others 19%
With a great number of moderate R voters and independent voters who lean R not voting at all or not voting for President.
*
But, we’re still waiting for a final pre-election surprise about Trump.
Without further major revelations about C or T, we could see:
Clinton 52%
Trump 37%
Johnson 6%
Stein 3%
Others 2%
“And as a protest, I voted for Jill Stein because she’s a big proponent of IRV, and Gary Johnson is an idiot and is not a libertarian.”
Haven’t decided what I am doing yet, but leaning that way myself, and I usually vote Libertarian.
This country is sooooo screwed.
The best way I heard the idea of a Trump “peace presidency” debunked: Trump will get in a twitter war with other world leaders at 3 AM over who is fat and ugly and then escalate to a real war, with nukes. Because after all why build them if we aren’t going to use them?
“1. Hillary will engage the US in a war with Russia in Syria that may spread to the Baltics, and may even go nuclear when Russia starts to lose. There will be no war with Russia in a Trump administration.”
I wouldn’t bet on that. Just because Trump is buddies with Putin now doesn’t mean they won’t have an ugly falling out later on. Trump used to be thick as thieves with the Clintons not that long ago. But supposing the Trump-Putin bromance stays solid, who *will* Trump get in a war with? China? Mexico? All of Latin America? The entire Muslim world? The European Union?
Keep in mind, Trump says he wants to build the military bigger than ever. He says we shouldn’t rule out using nuclear weapons in a first strike since if they are so bad why do we build them? And of course that same logic would apply to that massive military he wants to build; we can’t just build it and not use it.
Trump wants trade wars, but history shows that trade wars have a nasty way of turning into real wars. Trump wants to “beat the shit out of ISIS and take their oil” but how many Muslim nations could terrorists find a home in, or even take over? Trump wants to torture detainees, kill their families, put Muslim Americans on a watch list and end or drastically reduce Muslim immigration. How much anti-American sentiment and terrorism will that breed among Muslims? How will a Trump administration react when terrorist attacks get carried out? The words “that sure escalated quickly” come to mind.
The US would be a pariah nation under Herr von Drumpf, who has refused to even rule out a nuclear strike against Europe. It would certainly be a pariah nation throughout Latin America given the new US immigration policies.
TL; DR if you are looking to avoid war, Trump is at best a mirage.
As for gun control, Trump has flip flopped on that issue. One thing he has not flip flopped on though, is letting law enforcement have free reign in enforcing “law and order.” Lots of things can be excused by states of emergency, including, yes, gun confiscation.
There are two primary differences between Hillary and Trump.
1. Hillary will engage the US in a war with Russia in Syria that may spread to the Baltics, and may even go nuclear when Russia starts to lose. There will be no war with Russia in a Trump administration.
2. Hillary will effectively ban all handguns and repeating rifles with a combination of executive orders and SC picks. Trump will not.
Yes, there is a lesser of two evils in this election. Trump.
And as a protest, I voted for Jill Stein because she’s a big proponent of IRV, and Gary Johnson is an idiot and is not a libertarian.
“If Trump had [done] something like this to me, or to somebody I know, I would have been very vocal about it as soon as he announced that he was running for President, as well as before that.
Trust me on this: an incident like this is humiliating, and most of us keep them quiet. I don’t blame the women at all for keeping it to themselves, and I admire their willingness to come forward now.
I also believe most of the Bill Clinton rape accusers. It’s hypocritical of the Clintonites to think Trump’s behavior was atrocious, yet excuse Hillary’s not condemning her husband.
No one does hypocrisy like Democrats, except for Republicans.
Neither Clinton nor Trump are fit to be President.
“If Trump had something like this to me, or to somebody I know, I would have been very vocal about it as soon as he announced that he was running for President, as well as before that.
I’m sure it is a difficult thing to talk about, but it would have been just as difficult to talk about it during the primary season than it is now. Why not derail Trump before he made it through the primaries rather than wait until he is this close to having a realistic chance at becoming President?”
These women did not want to come forward. It’s having a negative impact on their lives. One has already had to move out of the country as her address was getting spread around on pro Trump message boards and she was receiving threats and people driving by her house. Another one has lost her livelihood, she does makeup for TV shows and they are not hiring her because she is “controversial” now. Trump is famously litigious, so he may well sue them. He also has alleged mob ties. Who knows what terrible things he or his supporters may do to them or their kids or loved ones? Will they lose friends who are Trump supporters over this? And so on.
Prior to the Access Hollywood tapes being made public they did not believe that their stories would be believed. And Trump getting up on the stage and directly denying that he did what he said in those tapes was cited by several of them as the direct and only reason they stepped forward as it was a direct slap in the face and revictimization for him to deny it so publicly. That had not happened before.
Right now, the journalists who have written these stories all say they have additional women they have talked to who say the same things but don’t want to go on the record, at least yet. They all say they have talked to multiple friends and family of some of these women who they had told this to months or years ago. And at least two of them (not including Trump’s ex-wife, who recanted under duress) were already leveling charges against him months ago.
I predict it will be more like 50/40/5/5. I think Trump will have a surprisingly good showing.

Based on what you’ve written previously about Clinton’s corporate media machine controlling the election agenda, I’d be surprised if you didn’t see this; so I have to assume you just wanted readers to draw that conclusion on their own. If so, my compliments; but you may have overestimated some readers’ ability to do so, hence my making the point explicitly.
“But
with more revelations
about Trump’s activities with young girls,
he could fall as low as 18% of the vote.”
Information about Trump that is now swirling about …
… if confirmed …
raping young teen girls …
Yes, absolutely, such revelations could reduce Trump to his unshakable hard-core supporters at about 18% of the vote on election day.
The October surprise has turned into a whole month of surprises.
This is a historically bizarre election year.
“Millions of Republican leaning voters may just stay home on election day.
At this point, I can see Trump falling to 129 or below in the EC. Enough R leaners may sit out the election to cost the Rs both the Senate and the House.
But with more revelations about Trump’s activities with young girls, he could fall as low as 18% of the vote.”
Trump falling to 18%?….i’m curious, are you a heavy consumer of satellite/cable news?
Eight women have come out so far, in a very short period of time, who have declared that they were assaulted by Trump. This could surpass the multitudes who have come out against Bill Cosby. It will get much worse for Trump by election day. He will not drop out of the race, but he may drop out of sight.
Millions of Republican leaning voters may just stay home on election day.

With Trump and Clinton you have two who are too evil for either to be the lesser evil.
No one should vote for either Clinton or Trump.

Andy, I am not going to bash you on this like I usually do (you make it so easy). I just would like to you learn a little about sexual assault and victimization before you go on one of your “suspicious” conspiracy theories.
This one is no conspiracy.
“Wouldn’t it have made more sense for these women to come out with their accusations against Donald Trump right after he announced that he was running for President? ”
No, they didn’t feel empowered that they would be believed, there was not a lot of talk about the sexual allegations against him in the media at that point, and he had not stood on the national debate stage and denied it at that point. So it makes absolute perfect sense why more of them are stepping forward now. There were actually some that did step forward earlier but it did not get a lot of attention then. Also, some of them did talk about it privately to their friends, coworkers and family who are corroborating that they did so, either at the time or more recently but before they went public.
Tony From Long Island said: “Are you SERIOUSLY asking why these women are coming out now? Are you that friggin naïve?”
Wouldn’t it have made more sense for these women to come out with their accusations against Donald Trump right after he announced that he was running for President? They’d have stood a much better chance at making sure that his campaign never went anywhere if this information had come out earlier.
The fact that it is just coming out a few weeks before the election is suspicious.
Andy, yes there is a lot of objectification of women in prison. But I have never EVER heard anything as specific as what Trump has said.
Notice that after the Trumpster fire tweeted that it was “locker room talk,” every single drone who defends him uses the same exact term? Really sad.
Ben “droopy dog” Carson made a fool of himself this morning on Morning Joe. However, it was the most awake he has been during the entire campaign!

I wonder if a condition of Tony’s release was that he become a government troll and post government propaganda online.
“Oh, Mr. Brown . . . don’t think about making stand-up comedy a side profession.”
It’s true, I am no Bill Cosby, or even Bill Clinton for that matter.
“Would you prefer to call it prison yard talk? I have never been in prison, but I would imagine that there are guys in prison who make crude remarks about women.”

“I’ve heard that Bill Clinton made regular trips to some “sex island” with a billionaire named Jeffry Epstein. Apparently there were women on this island who were being held as sex slaves, and I’ve heard that Donald Trump made trips to this island as well. Epstein is apparently a convicted pedophile.
Why was Bill Clinton hanging around with this Epstein guy and why did he take multiple trips to this guy’s island? What was Donald Trump’s role in this? Donald Trump was (is?) a long time friend of Bill and Hillary Clinton, and Donald made a remark about Bill Clinton making crude comments about women while the two were playing golf.”
Bingo again. They are peas in a pod. And the women who were held as sex slaves on Epstein’s island were actually underage girls. Some in their teens and some younger than that.

Andy, why am I not shocked that you call this crap ‘locker room talk.’ That phrase, in and of itself, is complete garbage. What locker rooms were you in?”
Would you prefer to call it prison yard talk? I have never been in prison, but I would imagine that there are guys in prison who make crude remarks about women.
Andy, why am I not shocked that you call this crap “locker room talk.” That phrase, in and of itself, is complete garbage. What locker rooms were you in? Other than when you were hung on a locker by a wedgie?
This goes waaaaaay beyond “crude remakrs.”
Are you SERIOUSLY asking why these women are coming out now? Are you that friggin naïve?
There are so many reasons why.
Oh, Mr. Brown . . . don’t think about making stand-up comedy a side profession. it only made me chuckle little bit.
“I would still put this under the category of crude “locker room talk” even if sexual assault did take place (Isn’t talking about sexual assault crude? I would say so.).”
What locker rooms have you been hanging out in? I have been in locker rooms where guys bragged about their exploits with women. I never, ever heard one guy in a locker room ever brag about routinely going grabbing women by the pussy without asking like what Trump was doing.
“It may well be true, but funny how this is just getting released now. ”
Well duh. The release of the tapes, and then Trump denying during the debate that he ever did anything like what he was talking about on the tapes in real life, is why they are stepping forward.
“Will Bill Clinton be in the cell with them?”
Probably not, unless Trump wins. If he does then yes, it could very well be the two Bills sharing a prison cell.
“It is almost as though this information was withheld until now on purpose in order to swing the election to Hillary.”
You think? Duh again. Of course it was. The Clintons and Trump have plenty more dirt on each other and it will be tit for tat. Brace yourself. The reason the tape was released was because Trump had already hinted that he was going to attack Bill Clinton over Clinton’s sex crimes, so what’s happening to Trump now is what is sometimes known as a “preemptive strike” AKA do unto him before he does it unto them.
Both Trump And Clinton Went To Jeffrey Epstein’s Sex Slave Island
http://www.dailywire.com/news/5749/both-trump-and-clinton-went-jeffrey-epsteins-sex-amanda-prestigiacomo
Well Tony where to start on the Clintons criminality and corruption? I am probably talking to a brick wall and I have other things to do but here’s a small sample.
Voting for, ordering and supporting wars abroad, domestic espionage and the drug war at home. Attacking and destroying the reputation of women who stepped forward about Bill Clinton’s assaults. Helping to militarize the police. Raking in many, many millions of dollars for themselves and their foundation from everyone from foreign dictators to wall street bankers and then dispensing favors to all those same people from their positions of power in the government. The trail of dead bodies that surrounds them and those who have crossed them. The Wall Street speeches where she told the multi billion dollar crooks that she helped bail out not to worry what she says in public. Their involvement in the drug trade when Bill was Governor of Arkansas, and the many millions of people they helped jail and saddle with criminal records in their highly hypocritical war on drugs while they themselves have used and sold drugs for most of their lives. Doing government business from an insecure home email server (do you really believe she did not know better?). Their involvement and profiteering from the inernational arms trade of both the legal and illegal varieties. And much more.
Only some of this was while she was your Senator, but don’t kid yourself that that period was any kind of exception to their lifelong record and activities.

“And now multiple women have stepped forward, with more and more coming forward every day, to make it clear that it was not just talk. Pretty soon Trump will have more accusers than Bill Cosby.”
It may well be true, but funny how this is just getting released now. Trump has been running for President for over a year, and they are just now getting around to releasing this information, AFTER he won the Republican primary, and just a few weeks before the election. This is odd. It is almost as though this information was withheld until now on purpose in order to swing the election to Hillary.

Is this more evidence that this election is a scam, even more so than most elections?
Rather than incorrectly accusing me of ignorance, why don’t you provide an example of such dysfunction or “corruption:” while she was a Senator. it’s much easier to throw useless words out in generalities.
Though, Senor Brown, we do agree just about exactly about the disgustingness of Trump. I’ve been in many locker rooms and never heard that crap. Hell, I was in prison for twelve years and didn’t hear shit like that – even from the rapists.

Andy ‘ . . . There are several people in the liberty community that I respect . . . such as , Alex Jones . . ‘
Alex Jones is NOT in the liberty community. He is in the conspiracy community.”
I strongly disagree with you about this. Alex Jones endorsed Ron Paul for President, and he also endorsed Michael Badnarik. I am not sure if he endorsed Harry Browne or not, but I have heard him say good things about Harry Browne.
Alex Jones endorsed Gary Johnson is the last election, and he might have endorsed Gary Johnson this time, IF Gary Johnson had not turned out to be such a butt-head (which is what I suspect all along).
Alex did not start out endorsing Donald Trump. He initially endorsed Rand Paul in the Republican primary. I do not think that Rand Paul is as good as his father, but even so, he was the best choice from a pro-liberty perspective in the Republican primaries. Alex switched to Trump after Rand Paul was eliminated.
Contrary to what some here claim about me, I am not a person who has to agree with somebody on every detail of every issue in order to support somebody, or to consider them to an an ally. A person who agrees with me on every detail about everything may not exist.
So even though I have not jumped on the Trump bandwagon, I still like and respect Jones, Block, Molyneux, and Smith, and I consider them all to be allies.
“No Matt, they really say nothing of real serious interest.”
Tony knows this because he has read the tens of thousands of emails, including the ones that have not been released yet. Right?
“And because there are no labor unions in the US to speak of, nor any significant Left in the US anymore, our republic will see lots of violence.”
Because labor unions and the left (in the US or other countries) have never engaged in mass violence?
“I’ve seen no credible stories that she was dysfunctional or “corrupt” as a Senator from New York”
Then you either haven’t paid attention or have been willfully ignorant.
” leaked recording of Donald Trump engaging in crude “locker room talk” about women ”
Um, no. He was bragging about sexual assault. And now multiple women have stepped forward, with more and more coming forward every day, to make it clear that it was not just talk. Pretty soon Trump will have more accusers than Bill Cosby. Maybe those the two geriatric A-List celebrity serial rapists will one day share a prison cell? That would be ironic justice for a candidate who has been openly bragging about jailing his opponent if he wins. Ironically it seems that the Clinton mafia manages to do what Trump only foolishly threatens; like when he threatened to turn Bill Clinton into the next Bill Cosby and now it’s happening to him. Well, he has threatened to jail Hillary Clinton. Maybe he will end up in prison for the many sexual assaults and rapes, including of many young underage girls, that he has in fact committed, while she is President, after many more women come forward and turn him into the next Bill Cosby.
I think the turn out at Trump rallies does mean something. I think it means there will be a great deal more violence by the then seemingly dispossed white formerly working and middle class Trump supporters when Trump loses.
I think after Clinton is elected and the capitalist global economy crashes again (see the recent statements to this affect by BoA, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, Credit Suisse etc) the white former working- and middle- class plurality in the US, who are generally well armed, will start acting on their desperation. And because there are no labor unions in the US to speak of, nor any significant Left in the US anymore, our republic will see lots of violence.
I also think that because Trump is such a schmo he is only the precursor to a more presentable and winning fascist leader and movement.
Can’t anyone find a better adjective than “corrupt?” It’s such a generic word. it could describe pretty much anything. It has all of the originality of Trump with his useful descriptors such as “disaster” “bad people” “terrible” “great”
I’ve seen no credible stories that she was dysfunctional or “corrupt” as a Senator from New York
Donald Trump is the greater of two evils. Hillary Clinton is like the Weimar Republic, corrupt and dysfunctional to the core. From this, it does not follow that it can’t get worse. It can and very well may. Adolf Hitler promised to “make Germany great again” and end the corruption and malaise of the Weimar Republic. He turned out to be much worse than the corrupt system he replaced. I think Trump is a lot like his hero Adolf Hitler in this regard, except that he is also a serial rapist and will have nuclear weapons unlike Hitler. Naturally the corrupt old establishment is against him, but that doesn’t mean he is better than they are. As horrible as they are he is actually even worse. As for the “libertarians” who have fallen for this authoritarian dictator in waiting, everlasting shame on them.
And Jill, yes, much of the alternative media you think is reliable is indirectly Putinist. Only RT is actually outright and openly owned by the Putin regime, but that doesn’t mean they don’t influence a lot of other media that they don’t directly control; they do.
Andy ” . . . There are several people in the liberty community that I respect . . . such as , Alex Jones . . ”
Alex Jones is NOT in the liberty community. He is in the conspiracy community. The fact that you “respect” him tells us all we need to know about you . . . not that we didn’t already know that.
You are correct that some people who lean libertarian do support Trump, which is baffling.

What does the current state of journalism tell us? How appropriate is it for them to be marginalizing and ridiculing one major candidate, while utterly ignoring the terrible things the other candidate has done? Is no one paying attention to Wikileaks? Of course you need to take their releases with a grain of salt, but what they say makes sense, far more sense then the stories we’ve been spoon fed.
I can’t believe I’m in a position to be defending Trump. He is a terrible candidate. It isn’t the media’s job to make that decision for us, though. They should report what goes on, without bias.
The fact that isn’t happening should be telling to most thinking Americans. It certainly is to me.”
I still have not hopped on board the Donald Trump bandwagon either, but I have got to wonder if maybe he is the “lesser of two evils” candidate. There are people who claim that one candidate is the “lesser of two evils” in every election, and I think that it is utter BS, but is it true this time? There does appear to be a concerted effort from the political establishment, including the people who control the Republican Party, the mainstream media, etc…, to swing the election to Hillary Clinton. “They” even went to the trouble to hijack and co-opt the Libertarian Party’s ticket by inserting Council on Foreign Relations Bush/Clinton stooge William Weld on to it, and by having CIA neo-con stooge Evan McMullin jump in the presidential race late. Then there was the leaked recording of Donald Trump engaging in crude “locker room talk” about women from Billy Bush, nephew of George HW Bush, and cousin of George W., Jeb, and Marvin Bush (and keep in mind that Bill Weld supported George HW Bush, and George W. Bush, and that he endorsed Jeb Bush for President in September of 2015, and that Marvin Bush has claimed that he is going to vote for Johnson/Weld, and also keep in mind that Gary Johnson endorsed George W. Bush for President in 2000), the release of which seemed to be conveniently timed in the build up to the election.
There are several people in the liberty community that I respect and generally agree with who are backing Trump, even though they have all admitted to having reservations about him, such as Walter Block, Alex Jones, and Stefan Molyneux, and even L. Neil Smith has endorsed Trump (Smith strongly dislikes Gary Johnson, and although he’s not wild about Trump, he despises Hillary Clinton for her long track record of corruption and trampling on individual rights, so he believes that we are better off taking our chances with Trump than allowing Hillary to waltz into the White House).
Is Donald Trump really the “lesser of two evils” or is he just another fraud, like George W. Bush, John McCain, and Mitt Romney?
Right now, if I bother to vote, I am still planning to either write in None Of The Above for President, vote for Constitution Party candidate Darrell Castle, write in Darryl W. Perry for President, or leave the presidential part of my ballot blank, but I do have to wonder if Donald Trump is really a “lesser of two evils” candidate, or is he another bullshitter who will be no better than Hillary Clinton?

the CIA and FBI both state that Russians, in fact, have done the hacking.
So what? The CIA and FBI never lie to us? I still don’t believe the Russians did the hacking.
No Matt, they really say nothing of real serious interest.
I guess I take the word of the CIA and FBI that the hacking was done by Russians. On this forum, though, that source might not have much credibility 🙂
Jill, actually the CIA and FBI both state that Russians, in fact, have done the hacking.
Bondurant, you are correct about my flip-flopping on Johnson. He has disappointed in several ways, beyond what I already knew were his faults. But remember, I am in New York and don’t have to worry about Generalissimo Trump winning. At least you read my posts to notice the flip-flopping.
The only one in my list of sources that would be considered “pro-Putin ” is RT, and I take that into account as to what they say.
Another good source of info is the weekly newsletter put out by G Edward Griffin, called “Need to Know”. My friend here in Los Angeles does a lot of the reporting for him.
I also like “Activist Post” and “Free Thought Project”, although the latter has been concentrating on police abuse lately.
“By the way, are any of you watching what’s going on with Russia? Has anyone (besides me) noticed how very close to war we are with Russia?”
Probably not as close as the Putinists trying to swing the US election and deligitimize US government claim, but yes, it’s a dangerous and developing situation. On the other hand if Trump wins, while there may be friendship with China there could be war with…China? Mexico? Who knows who else. And then again he may have a falling out with his Russian pals too. Could be a very nasty breakup.
@ Tony From Long Island
You flip-flop on voting for Johnson more than a woman changes her clothes on date night before leaving the house.
“Some leaked internal e-mails that really say nothing”
They say a whole lot and there’s a lot more yet to come. By the way, do you know for a fact that the hackers are Russian or are you taking that on faith? It’s certainly possible they are but conveniently enough the alleged evidence for that is classified.
Why is there no outrage that Russian hackers are attacking American political candidates?
Because I’m not certain they did the hacking. The Clinton people are the ones who told us that. I’d actually be very surprised if the Russians did it.
By the way, are any of you watching what’s going on with Russia? Has anyone (besides me) noticed how very close to war we are with Russia?
I don’t bet . . . but I do BEG of you 🙂
Jill . . . . ” Is Fox part of the mainstream media? Absolutely. Have you all noticed they’re turned against Trump also, and keep telling us how wonderful the criminal Hillary is? . . ”
Huh? Are you watching the ACTUAL Fox News? You are too intelligent to have just made that statement. If they have turned against Trump, it’s because Trump is the worst candidate for president from any major party in our nation’s history – – – by FAR! An absolute disgrace and international embarrassment.
How wonderful Hillary is? Please . . I bet of you to give me an example of Fox News recently telling us how wonderful Hillary is. Hannity last night dropped to a new low . . . and it wasn’t to tell us how wonderful Hillary was.
There is absolutely no comparison between the verbiage of FOX and CNN.
“I guess the closes you can get it someone lying about receiving consensual head, ”
LOL give me a break. The Clintons have real crimes they have committed for decades. That is not one of them.
“I’m often surprised by the things you say, and perhaps this is why. There are other outlets that provide very different reports of an event, and if you dig a little, their report seems more likely. I’d suggest you check out Benn Swan’s reports, or James Corbett. MintPressNews is a good source, although they’re generally progressive. Surprisingly, RT, is a good source.”
So you think only the pro-Putin sources are good. Got it. I actually check all of those out too, but I do check out MSNBC, CNN and Fox (in that order of preference) as well. None of them are always reliable, but I get a better picture by hearing it from different sides.
I will say again. I am voting for Gary Johnson. Do you want me to take a picture of my ballot?
The contents? . . . what contents? . . . there is no “there” there.
To pre-empt your response about having two positions, read the entire thing in context.
Again, the media consists of such outlets at Fox News and wonderful right-wing radio. They certainly aren’t giving Hillary a pass. They have FAR more viewers or listeners than any other media right now. Hillary is still winning. hmmm
“I know a little about being a crook. You have to be convicted of something.”
So you aren’t a crook if you don’t get caught or if you beat the rap. And no one gets falsely convicted. Is that what you are saying?
“And to be convicted of something, you have to have actually broken a law. ”
Try again. Lots of people breaks laws and don’t get convicted or even arrested. And lots of people get convicted of things they never did.
As for the Clintons they are crooks. No two ways about that.
@ Tony From Long Island
Hackers are a problem. I find it curious, though, that Clinton supporters like yourself are more upset about the hacks as opposed to the contents. You’re only mad because the stuff Hillary doesn’t want made public is now available. You’d be praising the hackers if the dirt was on Trump.
Wikileaks is very important. The media and it’s corporate financiers will shield Hillary at any cost. There’s a major problem when a political prisoner locked away in an Ecuadorian embassy is a better source of information than “trusted” newspapers and journalists.
Thank God for people like Ben Swann that actually do reporting.
Don’t you watch Fox News? It’s all they’re talking about. And they attract the most viewers.
I would opine that one reason for the disparity is because there is no comparison in the level of scum-baggery.
Why is there no outrage that Russian hackers are attacking American political candidates?
So let’s compare: Some leaked internal e-mails that really say nothing against . . . . “C’mon I wouldn’t have sexually assaulted that woman . . . have you seen her? . . . . Nobody respects women more than I do . . .believe me . . ” (Paraphrase)
Yeah . . . they are on the same level . .
It certainly is to me.
Of course they will claim that. They don’t care that it will have no basis in fact and that it will de-legitimize the process and de-stabilize democracy in this country.
I know a little about being a crook. You have to be convicted of something. It’s sort of a pre-requisite. And to be convicted of something, you have to have actually broken a law. Since that hasn’t happened . . .
I guess the closes you can get it someone lying about receiving consensual head, and that was clearly a threat to national security . . but again . . I don’t recall a conviction there.
Rallies interest the die-hard partisans and those paid to show up. I don’t think they hold any water in lasting or nationwide interest in a candidate. That said, Hillary needed a system rigged from top to bottom to put away a fringe candidate.
There is no “mainstream media.” There is just the media. Some sources are better than others. Do you count Fox as part of the “mainstream media?”
The verbiage on the networks are sometimes identical because they all read the Associated Press stories. Even Fox and CNN lately are very similar. Is Fox part of the mainstream media? Absolutely. Have you all noticed they’re turned against Trump also, and keep telling us how wonderful the criminal Hillary is?
I’m often surprised by the things you say, and perhaps this is why. There are other outlets that provide very different reports of an event, and if you dig a little, their report seems more likely. I’d suggest you check out Ben Swann’s reports, or James Corbett. MintPressNews is a good source, although they’re generally progressive. Surprisingly, RT is a good source.
I don’t get my news from any one source, but I NEVER get news from Fox, CNN, MSNBC,and so on.
Don’t worry though, I despise Trump and his fascist hordes. And I’m not huge on Bernie and his welfare socialism either. I do however agree with Trump that Bill and Hillary are lying crooks.
Regardless of the margin. Hide and watch.
How much do you want to bet if Trump loses he and many of his supporters will claim it was cheating?
Give me a break. This isn’t 1960 with dead voters in Illinois. The margin she will win by will be far beyond anything cheating would require.
Your “some people say . . ” sounds quite Trumpian. “Some people are saying. . . .but I won’t say that, but some people are saying . . . ” Using a lot of (repetitive) words to say nothing.
Well, some people say she cheated. Trump is one of them. And you can bet every penny you have he will say she cheated if he loses, regardless of any polls.
I forgot to mention that Bernie had huge rallies. Clinton did not. She won by a wide margin.
Jill, the number of people at his rallies is absolutely meaningless. It has no correlation to actual votes. Romney had many, many large rallies. Trump has a solid base of fanatics. But that’s it. It’s always been that way. Hasn’t grown an inch since June.
I don’t think it will be as close you think. There is no “mainstream media.” There is just the media. Some sources are better than others. Do you count Fox as part of the “mainstream media?” They have the highest ratings of the news networks. They were absolutely shocked when Romney lost. No one else was.
Certain segments of the right live in a bubble where they get their information from Fox – which tells them Romney, or Trump or Candidate X is sure to win for whatever reason and yet it doesn’t come to pass. Karl Rove was flabbergasted.
Are they really going to act shocked when Trump gets trounced?
“Yeah, seems like he meant third most likely to actually win. Took me a bit to follow the grammar.”
He did mean most likely to actually win. Follow the links back to the 538 article to see how that could happen even without ballot access in most states.
Trump is doing much better than the mainstream media is telling us, if you judge by the number of people who show up at his rallies. Of course Clinton will win, but Trump will not fade away into very small numbers.
It will most likely appear very close between Clinton and Trump on election day, so any of the other players will perform very badly. I think the window for any other candidate to pull forward has passed.
Yeah, seems like he meant third most likely to actually win. Took me a bit to follow the grammar.
I will grant that McMullen’s chances to win Utah are greater than Johnson’s to win New Mexico or Alaska.
But neither of those scenarios are very likely. Certainly interesting.
See https://independentpoliticalreport.com/2016/10/fivethirtyeight-com-how-evan-mcmullin-could-win-utah-and-the-presidency and the original article it links to. Granted, it’s a low probability scenario, but still higher probability than Gary Johnson getting electoral votes right now, regardless of how many states he is on the ballot in.
Mr. Matter: ” . . . . . Nah, Evan McMullin is now considered the 3rd most likely winner believe it or not. . . . ”
Mr. MacGyver will be whalloped in the popular vote totals by Gov. Johnson. It’s just simple math. He’s on all 50 ballots. The third place finisher in this election will be Gov. Johnson – by a significant margin over Dr. Stein.
So who exactly consideres McM the “3rd most likely winner.” What does that mean anyway?
Gillespie’s piece is an exercise in wishful spin doctoring. It reads like it is was penned by TeamGov’s press secretary(in effect, sort of the unofficial role Gillespie/Reason has played in this business). Although Trump has collapsed in the prediction markets, polling wise, Clinton’s poll numbers have firmed only at the margins of statistical significance…roughly 3%, though enough of a movement to probably ensure a very likely solid electoral college victory.
Johnson is not on the express lane to double digits. Instead he is on the predictable decline to low single digits. I’m sorry to say that Anthony Fisher’s interpretation of Johnson’s Chicago’s speech nor Reason’s 5 minute video is going to be enough to spur that momentum reversal game change. lol
Great video. About 6 months too late though. Gary needed to find his voice in July, not 3 weeks before election day.
Nah, Evan McMullin is now considered the 3rd most likely winner believe it or not.
