The AP reports Libertarian presidential nominee Bob Barr will speak today at noon at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. The AP says Barr “has emerged as a favorite alternative for people who’d backed Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul.”…

Gregory Thompson is the Constitution Party of Missouri candidate for governor. He was previously the Superintendent of the Humansville, Missouri R-IV School District, but was removed from that office by a Federal judge because his office displayed the Ten Commandments on the wall, he kept a bible on his desk, and a statuette of “praying hands” on his desk–all of which he refused to remove when ordered by the Supreme Court of Missouri.…

Just throwing an idea out there, one I have no solid opinion on myself: If the Constitution Party were to replace its support for the “Biblical foundations” of the American Republic with “Constitutional foundations”, and both the CP and the Libertarian Party were to formally agree that the federal government should have no role in defining marriage or the propriety of any sexual orientation, might these two liberty-oriented parties be able to merge, at least on the national level?…
